Voltaire's tags:
Howard Gardner was a psychologist who developed a theory about multiple intelligences, see link below. Very interesting reading. I believe this could be put to good use in schools.

What do you think? Good, bad, ugly or brilliant theory?
I personally like it.

voltaire- Very interesting piece. There are definite needs for study of educational methods and testing in the US.

I don't feel confident enough to comment on this article,  but I do feel its good news that educators are interested in his theory. It doesn't surprise me at all that academic psychology hasn't taken to it because almost all branches of academia are steeped in conventional wisdom and fear of promoting something new.

Educators are much more open but are blocked even at a level of experimenting with curriculum in an educational system that most agree is severely lacking due to success rate. Some experimentation is going on. One is going on in my state and several others which is financed by Bill Gates and has had success.

At the least, Gardener's theory is being taken seriously and I'm sure has opened new ideas for the future of education.
