Oh man, I'm so frustrated.

I've been trying to understand the new math class ever since Wednesday, but haven't been able to. It's really annoying since I'm always the guy people go to when they need some kind of explanation in Math class or whatever, but now I can't even help myself! I did ask my friends to explain it to me, but still I don't get it. Have I suddenly become a moron or what? People even say that it's easier than anything we've seen before!

Heck no! I don't get it! I even woke up early today to study... and after 2 frustrating hours, couldn't get any problem done! OUTRAGEOUS! I'm on the edge of desperation, the test is on Tuesday... and I don't know a thing.

What sort of math are you doing? Statistics, for example, is wildly stupider than algebra. Algebra makes sense. It's fun. But in statistics you're given formulae and not expected to understand how they work. THe professors can't even explain how they work. If I can't, at least in principle, dirive the foruma, I don't want to deal with it.

It's very possible that math that doesn't expect understanding will seem much easier to peopel who don't understand math and much harder to people who do. It becomes rote memorization, pretty much.

Just what sort of problem are you working on? Myabe us soulcasters can help?

It also happened to me...I always represent my school in math olympiads during my elementary years.

The time I stepped high school...I can't understand what they are trying to teach me. I can't see the fundamentals. That's Algebra by the way. It gave me a hard time to understand it. I never learn it from my teacher nor from anybody. I just missed something on that subject. One fundamental which I have ignored.

Also that year, I was able to cope up and raised my flag again.

I was able to hold my flag until my college years which I participated in so many national quiz bees. I was aiming for the international but it's too late.

Try to think clearly...you maybe focused on hard things and forget to see the simple ones.
    As what you said:
"People even say that it's easier than anything we've seen before!"

If you're having problems in mathematics. Post some sample problems and let's answer it.

Thanks to all of you for replying and offering to help. I should now say that, after some time sitting down with the book and solving some problems, I got everything. I understand it now :D

By the way, I'm already done with Algebra and Trigonometry. I'm now on Analytic Geometry and next year will be on Calculus. And let me say, I love Algebra and Trig! They're awesome and I get them and they're great :D

The problems I was dealing with this weekend were those of the type "Division point of a Line segment"... That ratio and stuff, I didn't get it, but now I do. It was a simple thing, actually. I was reading the segment lengths one way and then replacing values in the formula another way... :P What a simple thing :)

Thanks to everyone for the replies, and I'll be sure to post some problems up when I can't figure them out :)

    A about line segments!

Dividing a line into two segments and having their ratio blah blah blah.

On Calculus...you will find why your professor is teaching you the long method at first and after that the short method.

Having the short method is so easy and not even need to use skills.

Calculus is a very interesting subject. It's application is more about rates or changes. It's problem solving is challenging.

Yes, line segments! And she also said something about a shorter method. Yes, the ratio, that was my temporary nemesis :P

You're not making me feel any much happier about learning Analytic Geometry :P I hope Calculus is as good as you describe it.
