Greetings, dearest reader! I'm back from my trip.

The overnight trip was unforgettable. Absolutely unforgettable.

I met a ton of people. Mostly couples.

There were 7 couples. There were 3 guys who came without their girlfriends; 2 gals who didn't bring theirs; 4 dudes who are on unknown statuses (I didn't ask and wouldn't know how to fish for too personal information); and lastly, 2 ladies who were single. And yes, I'm one of the two who were single.

There were a ton of food! 9 cases of beer (24 bottles/case); 5 packets of hotdogs; 6 dozen eggs (for breakfast or hangover fuel); God knows how many bags of chips we had. We could fill an entire 6-seater table a relatively huge pile of it! Pasta included bowls of two sauces, white and red; Two huge servings of corn cooked two ways: buttered corn with carrots and corn with garlic and mushroom; There were like a dozen cans of Spam; 3 packages of bacon, 2 5gallons of water; Alcoholic drinks included Asti, rum, gin, vodka, Coco Rum, Alizé. Mixes that were made were too many to mention. There were a lot of juices and cans of fruits and other syrups brought to have a really great night ahead of us. Poker, Karoke, the forbidden kind of medicine, and smokes.

3-bedroom house.

Most of the people arrived around 430PM. Dinner at 8PM. Drinks started around 530 - just enough to have a good ice cold beer. Latest people arrived around 2AM. Bedtime was around 4AM for some, 7AM for the rest, and earlier for the couples who mostly came from another party/hangover the night before.

Oh yeah, did I mention it was a good weekend?

I haven't felt this good in so long. I couldn't even remember the last time I felt this way: all light and happy.

It made everything better... as if having my friend leave and come back February next year is really nothing to miss.

Interesting enough, nobody got drunk enough to pass out although most of the couples slept early only to wake up early morning to drink and oh yeah, to catch the sunrise.

I met an interesting guy. He belongs to the "unknown status" group. He got really drunk. He was fun to talk to, laugh with, and just hang around with. We slept at the same room. He slept on the floor and I shared the bed with three other girls. I think there was chemistry. But it also could be just the night, the very relaxing atmosphere, the very cold weather, and not to mention, the overflowing alcohol!

To describe him more, he has quite the smile and the personality. Dare I mention how sexy his voice is? Or is it the way he talks to you? I couldn't tell the difference. He's waaayyyy taller than my five-feet-five-inch measurement and he's great at golf. He smokes and snores. He's a pretty interesting character.

Nothing happened. Sorry to disappoint, but he didn't ask for my number nor did he try to do anything more than play cards with me, share my smokes, drink with me, and kiss me on the cheek when he had to leave already.

(Do I hear a chorus of "Aww's"?)

*grin* Don't worry. I didn't even think of getting his number. It was of no importance. I had a great time and I feel... better than I could remember.

Nothing could beat this moment... yet.

So when's the last time you drank heavily, sang off-tune, won in a round of poker, and just plain enjoyed the company of friends?

Note to reader: I highly recommend doing so every few weeks to EVERYONE.

What do you mean, "nature of the gathering"?

I think, if you have your own lives to lead, different jobs and different responsibilities, it's really hard to even just schedule something where you all are available.

well, it sounds like something some friends did to get together but i'm curious about who the strangers were. that's all. :>

Now I get your question. They weren't exactly strangers. They were friends of friends of friends. Sort of like 3rd or 2nd degree friends.
