this discarded mad dog 20/20 bottle became our beacon in the night...lol!  so many of the streets look alike, we would walk until we found the md bottle on the sidwalk, that was where our hotel shuttle dropped us off and picked us up...

qp - thanks :)  i actually went into a few of them.  our tour guide for the ghost tour gave us a historical account of the history of voodoo practicing in the area...he also pointed out a "clean" voodoo shop to us.

I know the place well. I've never left without a smile on my face. If I could only figure out how to get rid of all the men ?  I'm glad you had a good time, I always did. Stay away from the mad dog . . . there's always Boones Farm . I know it's not much better but at least you'll remember where you left your cloths :o)  .  I don't remember the pool, but it's interesting.

I'm curious about the voodoo sops too.  It scares me a bit though.  I don't think I would have touched anything without knowing what it was.

I would love to see New Orleans some day too.

Wow, I never knew it really looked like that, I mean I'd always heard, but thought 'Naww.'  Thanks for sharing these pictures!

its interesting to see this fraggle. i'm in New orlens for a couple of days, and although i have no interest in Bourban street, i think its safe to say it is indeed a different beast by night.

wishy - it was a little too cool to swim, but we did lounge by it :)  i'm planning on doing a post about the voodoo tomorrow after i get some shut eye :)

hegs - i'm so glad you enjoyed them!

zykore - lucky you!!! i would go back in a heartbeat there were so many more things we wanted to do!

You're making me miss the Big Easy. Been there 5 times - love those beignets and that coffee - not to mention all  the voodoo. And the boobs. And the gumbo.

I'd be a bit curious about the house of voodoo. Can you buy a shrunken head phone strap in there?
  • fragglesrock said on Apr 22, 2009....

moon - you're soooo lucky to have been there 5 times! those beignets were sooo good :)

bozo - that clip is hilarious! no doubt something like that would happen to me if i ever tried to engage in voodoo!

hot - dang! i'm suuuure you could, you should've put in your order BEFORE i went :)
