The living area of the flat we are living in now here in the Netherlands is flooded with natural light from the outside - I like that very much. From where I am sitting, I can look out to the wide window overlooking the fields that has a hiking path. It is frequented not only by nature lovers but people who likes to visit the village´s family stork. In spite of the Easter holiday flow of hikers, it is very quiet here in the village, not even the chirping of the flock of birds that wake us up in the morning could be heard.
It is not what I wanted to share to all of you today though, but how we celebrated Easter, lol. I wonder if I will ever get around to writing what I actually want when I get on in SC or even get to post this, hahaha. I am quiet mellow, and having an afternoon dip after a rich lunch of mix spring salad, veggie & salami pizza, and home made leek soup all washed down with a very cool Dutch beer.
Middle daughter Kim is having a nap in the kid´s room as I write these words ; I am making a note to myself to make her lie down again every afternoon after lunch before there is even a sign of a meltdown. Eldest daughther Jill is sitting beside Piet, while he goes through the pictures stored in a memory stick he just found today; there are some pictures taken in Germany on it, as I here them chatter. Mary, the youngest is cheerily playing with her white bunny, given to her yesterday by Piet´s eldest sister.
It was a great Easter celebration. I cannot focus - as usual! - lol, and so I will share the highlight of the Easter than go through how it went in details (perhaps I will...but more likely this will be my Easter blog, lol).
Note on the pictures: it is almost 5.30 pm, and I have been interrupted many times - as usual, lol - that I hope you won´t mind if I don´t edit the size of the pictures ( if you can´t view it properly on your computers because of the resolution, I will make a smaller version tomorrow on the comment box) because otherwise this will not get posted today (or ever, lol).
. . . excerpts of our Easter in images . . .

Image above is taken yesterday 12.04.09, after the girls (and Piet) hunted for their Easter presents in the flat; it was then posted on my dailybooth site (or should I say "ours", lol because my personal project evolved into a family project ~ 365 days of recording life/first year in the Netherlands).

The Easter card above was in the package containing the girls Easter present from their German grandmother. It is precious to me because it is one of the small steps symbolizing the renewal of my new relationship with my mother in law (K only informed her of our separation two years later ... I touched on this subject in my previous blogs very briefly).13.04.09

The picture above is Jill´s Easter present to Piet & I. It was one among 6 Art in Number pictures, that my cousin from Germany gave to her as he visited us during my birthday weekend.

. . .and this is what eldest daughter wrote behind the picture . . .

The image above was taken Saturday, 11.04.09, after a long day of shopping. It was past 6 pm, and the girls were excited to pose with their newly bought spring/Easter clothes. Jill attended ballet school for more than a couple of years, and still do the positions she learned, lol even making her little sister do them too!

After our celebration at home, we set off to Piet´s mom, where we were invited for Easter teatime/dinner. Both his sisters were there with their family (his younger brother could not make it because he is still working on his new house). The picture above shows Piet´s older sister giving Mary a special bunny for Easter.

Piet´s younger sister is playing with Kim and her HABA black forest cake. She played "cake on your face" with Piet´s entire family yesterday, lol.

Piet´s mom with Mary. Like I, the girls feels so much at home with Piet´s family. *sniff*

. . . chilling on the couch after filling ourselves up with all the yummmmmmmminess of Easter teatime/dinner. I wanted to preserve this moment. It is so special to me. The girls have bloomed in the short period of time, and I thank beloved Piet (and his family!!! Even his ex-wife <3) for just being there . . .

At the end of a long day, almost half an hour before Easter Sunday ends. . . Mary bonds once more with Piet aka the dada and her special Easter bunny (I will be posting a video of this rabbit, lol!).
Now, it is 20 minutes past 6 pm, and as Piet serves me a tray laden with a glass of warm Early Gray and a plate with chocolate muffin, I cross my fingers that this post does not get chopped in half again!lol
I tagged this post with Hope and Faith because I want to be reminded of the time I almost lost hope and faith . . . If I had given up, I would not have experienced such joy, that I am experiencing now. Life is by no means perfect ; I still experience episodes of meloncholy and anxiety attacks, but the difference is I am in a very healthy enviroment, that helps me enormously.
Sending you all, much love and peace,
paper ~
