My experience about Holic Online
holic gold is my favorite. One of the most fun, graphically awesome first 20 levels you will have in your gaming career. But unfortunately for Holic Online, the fat lady sang too early.
From my own experience, Holic Online was a game I got fairly involved in myself starting in Open Beta last year. I played for a few months enjoying all of the perks: a fantastic class revolving system, player created dungeons, player created quests, astonishing graphics, lovely fashion items, and the list goes on. What eventually stopped me from Holic was the extreme lack of content later in the game. On top of that, once a player gets a job up to around 50, any hope to advance further is heavily relied upon strong groups of players working together; something I was unable to find at the time.
There are a lot of features that set Holic apart from most point and clicks. One of my favorites was the job system. Instead of being stuck-for-life as a Priest or a Warrior, your character can switch all of the available classes. Essentially, if you ever got get tired of one, you can click a hotkey and play on the other. Besides , if you want your warrior to be strong, you can buy some holic money.
Holic simply ENDS too soon for a game of the potential and caliber. One expects that as one advances the map will get bigger and the content will get fancier, but in Holic the opposite is almost true. Which leaves the question, is this a half-finished game? It is been mentioned that the developers are working on Holic 2, a sequel that is essentially an expansion. I can only hope that this, and further updates, turn Holic into the game it is meant to be. I would be happy to have another go.
