So what is the current take on Obama's stance on GM and Chrysler? I'm kind of mixed feelings on it. The first thing is that while I was on the fence six months ago I'm willing to accept limited I told you so's (not that I didn't know already) that if we bailed them out they'd be back in six months (almost to the day). I can only support those moves in hindsight because something had to be done in the interim to give us time to figure out the situation and now Obama has gien them their final sixty days to figure their shit out as well as thirty days to Chrysler to get their acts together.
Other than this should have been done six months ago I don't have any major problems with this as it stands.
I do have a bit of an issue with the US government taking over the warranties for GM. I find that to be a bit risky.
