Steve Mapes of Lincoln Nebraska is back on the Meth. It was bound to happen as Steve Mapes has been addicted to drugs most of his life.
Quite a few months ago Steve Mapes Father passed away. Steve's father told him in the past "This is the last time I am going to bail you out". This because Steve had several felony drug convictions but spent little time in jail. Yes, with enough money and infuence, you can buy someone out of jail. The Lincoln Police is well aware of this fact. I have seen living proof of their frustrations in this matter. FACT. They would kick in Steve's door, bust him for crack cocaine, and he would be back on the streets doing crack and terrorizing Lincoln Nebraska residents in a matter of a few weeks.
It turns out, when Steve Mapes father passed, he left Steve on the same $300 a week allowence. Steve's father knew if he left him a fortune Steve would spend it all on drugs as he did in the past. How does Lincoln Nebraska know this. Many years ago when one of Steve's relatives passed away, Steve was left no money. Steve Mapes sued the estate and was granted $750,000. This money went up in smoke in less than a few years. POOF!
The only problem here is, since Steve Mapes has no way to live the "high life" he once lived, he has taken to the streets to deal drugs and rip people off. Steve Mapes has an illegal tax free "business" called "FOUR SEASONS HAULING". A hauling service. Steve screens all his calls as to only return the calls from women and the elderly. He settles on the price for a hauling job over the phone. After the work is done and he goes to get paid he doubles the price. How? It's actually a bit clever. Here is how it works.
Caller: "Hi, four seasons hauling, I need an old stove hauled away"
Steve Mapes: "That will be $50 there easy for you mam".
Caller: "OK, see you then"
Steve Mapes: "That will be $50 there easy for you mam".

Steve then travels to the elderly woman's house and leaves his helper in the truck. He then goes and arranges the deal, and gets the stove ready to be moved. At that time Steve waits untul the old woman goes back to what she is doing. At that time Steve Mapes signals his helper to come in. They then move the Steve quickly. When the "work" is done they BOTH see the old woman for the money. The old woman says, "Oh there is two of you". At that time Steve Mapes says "that will be $100". The old woman says, "You told me $50 on the phone". Steve will then start screaming at these women "I TOLD YOU $50 EACH!!!"
You see the scam? "That will be $50 there easy ". vs. "That will be $50 each". It's a "small misunderstanding" that doubles the price and works every time. Most of these old women are intimidated they have this crazy little man screaming in their face.
This Four Seasons Hauling Scam works so well, it worked on an off duty Lincoln Police Officer. No kidding. I seen it with my own eyes. The off duty Lincoln Police Officer just threw up her hands and wrote out the check for double. How do I know so much. I was the second guy called out of the truck. You see, the person helping Steve Mapes does not know about the double the price scam. Steve just comes up to someone "hey, you want to make $50 in one hour moving a piece of furniture? I'll bring you back in one hour".
In closing, when Steve left the woman's house with her check I stuck around after he left. I explained to this off duty officer that I thought I was just helping someone. I even offered to bring her money back after he paid me. This officer told me "Don't worry about it, you did nothing wrong". I then told her I guess i need to be more careful picking who I "work" for. We both laughed and we bid each other good day.
When I got back out to the truck out of earshot of the people Steve said "We sure took that bitch for a ride, screw her!" My only words were, "I need to go home",
In this case it was actually $75 double to $150. The reason I know that this happens all the time is because I know four other people that have had this same experience. All of us were so embarrassed we never went back again, even if the money was good. We knew it would some day all end in Steve's arrest.
When a group of us friends found out Steve was nothing but a self loathing homophobic drug addicted meth and crack head, we all quit talking to him. This sent him in to a rage where Steve Mapes threatened to kill all of our familes. The Lincoln Police Department were notified of his threats. When I spoke to the long time LPD Detective he asked "who is making these threats?". When I told the Detective it was "STEVE MAPES", the Detective took a step back and had a stunned look on his face.
You see Steve Mapes has been making a mockery of the Lincoln Police Department and the Court System for decades. These Police work hard to lock him up only to have him running loose in a matter of days. BUT, now Steve's father is passed, there is nobody left to bail him out with their money and infuence. Lincoln Police are well aware of this. Steve Mapes is "The one that always got away" to them. I am sure that LPD will be happy to know Steve is back on the meth and crack, and still scamming people in this so called "business" on a daily basis.
