Today has been a pretty good day. We have like maybe two more boxes to pack tomorrow and the rest is all stuff like our toothbrushes that won't go until we go.
But oh my god! I feel like I'm living in a fog. We haven't been working all that hard, I haven't been sleeping any better or worse than usual. But I think the dust is really getting to me. There were dust bunnies big enough to organize a revolution! In fact I'm not entirely sure that wasn't what they were doing when I interrupted them.
So I just feel like I can't wake up. Can't think at 100% capacity, can't focus. Half my sentences today have trailed off into space. I don't even have allergies. There's just THAT much dust in the air around here. It's awful. And DH with his sinus issues is really suffering. He's not really allergic either but he has partially blocked sinus passages, so what would be a livable amount of nasal irritation for me is enough to stop him up completely.
I made the mistake at one point this morning of thinking I had done all the really dusty work in a particular corner, and asked him to help me. Five minutes later he had taken a dust bomb to the face and I was practically shoving him out the door: "Go for a walk, take the movie back! Get some fresh air before you keel over!"
I bought us both some Reactine this morning and I do feel like it helped. But I still feel just bleugh. No fun. It's not helping that I've been eating like a pig the past couple of days, and that in turn is wreaking havoc with my blood sugars. I can tell my performance is suffering. I have definitely not been putting a tiger in my tank lately, and it shows!
It's going really well though. We have some last-minute errands that have to get done tomorrow, and that last-minute packing up/breaking down stuff before the movers get here. And then we'll be coming out the other side and unpacking all our stuff! That'll probably be more work than packing it up, but we can take all the time we want to get through it all. We've already bought a new area rug, got the stove picked out (a steal!), two new matching desks, and bought some roman shades for the front door (we still have to get the hardware to actually hang them - it's a metal door so we can't use the stuff that came with). Oh yeah, and we've been officially greeted by 3 of the neighbor's cats at our back door. They are gorgeous, but they are used to being fed by whoever lives upstairs. We both agreed we're not sure we'll be able to resist them for long! And our cats are gonna go haywire at first!
It's gonna be great :D
