The more I learn and hear about the last days the more inclined to believ e that something will happen that create a new consciousness.  Either some kind of field will be opened or created or some kind of energy that will uplift and change the peoples hearts and minds to loving each other. Surely no one would  come to help those who still have hate in their hearts for other people or themselves.  Who anywhere else would want to invite us to come and live on their planet???Who wants people that will start wars and starve each other and destroy the land,  water and air??? Probably no takers out there..--Some person coming to save the world would'nt work for me as Jesus said he had come to free the people and in the end they killed him.  Seems no one knows what it is they are to be freed from. I do believe that something will separate the people some way some how just because people who want to learn to love all people would not want to continue in war.  One cannot just walk in and hand out peace.  Someone has to be willing to live it and that someone has to turn away from judgement for judgement sets it all in motion.Any thoughts out there????

I don't put much faith in people predictions that don't exist anymore.....if they could see the future they could have prevented their own demise.

Maybe someday we will be able to have longer periods of peace, but war will find a way eventually.

Racism will always exist to some extent.

You can't regulate human nature....you can only respond to it.

What exactly did the Mayans predict that makes us believe any of their
predicitons about 2012? At best, 2012 will be when OhBummer declares
martial law and we get the change he promised -- a dictatorship and
    socialism / communism.

Also, Nostradamas predicted 2012 would be the end of times. Can you
point out exactly where he said that? Every time I see some show
about the big N, they quote some passage that make no sense and
then say that clearly points to 2012. WHAT?

I once heard Billy Graham say that we are all going to die. It is just a
matter of when. The real question is not when are you going to die, but
are you ready to meet your maker when you do? Most people who worry
about the end times are people who are not prepared to meet their
maker or think they never will. As General Patten said "poor, dumb
    bastards."

Ahh the human calendar as we know it was started 5yrs AFTER the birth of Jesus. So if there is any truth to this the actual year right now is:2014. So much for the 2012 theory!

    Dear Shiningstar:

    Dear Shiningstar:

This is worthy of discussion! 2012 is predicted to arrive with

    a meteorite to strike earth.

Note that if and when it arrives here, it could cause a planetary

block of sunlight, the onset of extreme weather conditions,

for instance cooling, akin to the great ice age? Speculation:

Will we re-live our destiny, perhaps one we have before?

(I’m referring to the theory that the universe expands,

and contracts. It re-plays activities and self destructs

then contracts over and over again).

People like Nostradamus, make us inquire, but we

should not. It is like a visitation of S....n. Do not

worry! Jesus has overcome the world. He has told us all

things; the bible can be read and understood by a child.

These "predictions" are demonic and dangerous to our soul-self.

DO not become affixed to these extant theories, it is

an occupation which creates fear, doubt and chaos.

Know: Nostradamus is a mystic, but he seems to have

become involved in darkness in the universe.

We know little and a little bit of knowledge are of course

    dangerous.

Contrary, "The Bible Code" is a window into the mind of GOD.

We know it, the bible code, was supposed to be revealed now because it requires the use of computers for patterns, calculations and code of events.

Know that the code from the bible is meant for us to decipher.

S---n would have you think that anything biblical is

    moot.

It is not, in fact it is meant to counteract the terms, ideas and

theories that are meant to discourage, confuse and disable

    mankind in fear and loathing.

We need to explore that which is unfolding in the bible, in

events and read carefully through Genesis to Revelation.

    events

people in ancient times believed that when they saw a comet, it was a good time to start a war. in the 80's, it was rumored that ronald reagan was the anti-christ and we were in the end days. y2k was going to throw us back to the stone age.

i could write a book with sayings like

'in the days of the star crossing, the son shall supplant the father, and darkness will cover the great valley of shoal.'

and a thousand years from now, if my writings survive, someone will find a set of circumstances that seem to fit. does that make me a prophet?

part of the 'proof' of the mayan calander is that we supposedly will be crossing the galactic center on that year. supposedly something significant will happen on a cosmic level because of that. then again, supposedly something of cosmic significance was supposed to happen a couple years ago when all the planets alligned. nothing did. if you look at our position against the center of the galaxy, we crossed the center some 20 years ago. if numbers are significant, shouldn't something have happened at 12:12 on december 12, 1212? or 11:11, 11/11/1111?

why did the mayan calander stop on that date? well, it's a cyclical calandar. it starts over again on that date. every few years, something comes along to cause people to believe in a great global cataclysm that never comes. tsunami, hurricane, volcano, earthquake, those things can seem like the end of the world to the people in the area, especially if they have no concept of the entire world. but they seem like local events to us.

my point? when you better understand the size, scope and complexity of the world, you stop attributing global significance to local events. when you better understand the complexity of the universe, you stop attributing cosmic or diestic significance to the crossing of a comet. or the arbitrary date on a calander.

The most interesting thing that I have heard or read is that the time for the stars to complete  their 12 star rotation is either 26,000 years or 260,000 years and that is supposed to coincide with the Mayan calendar to bring in a new consciousnes that happens every time this event occurs.  Any one know something about that???
  • travelr712 said on Mar 29, 2009....
that is the procession of the equinoxes, or approximate amount of time that it takes for the north pole to rotate between several 'north stars', such as polaris, thuban and gamma cephei a.k.a. alrai. It just means that the north star isn't always the same star.

    also, from this website:

NOTE:  The astronomer Philip Plait has stated very clearly that the Mayan calendar does not end in 2012 at all, that it is like the odometer on your car, as each section of the odometer reaches 9 and then clicks over to 0, the next number to it starts a new cycle, so that when all the numbers again reach 0 all the way across the odometer - the last number will change from 1 to 2 and the new cycle starts all over again.
  • travelr712 said on Mar 29, 2009....
at the last 'great predicted event', y2k, there were flyers, articles, and survival kits. companies were created to research the possibility that other companies would have trouble, then certifying them as 'y2k compliant'. People made millions from this fear, and in the end, those kits may be worth something on ebay in 50 years for sentimental value. there weren't any websites, however, because there wasn't really an internet yet. however, over the next 2 months, tens of millions of computers and internet accounts were sold, and the internet was born.

2012 is just another one of those 'mass histeria' moments in time brought to us by our friendly neighborhood religions. i think maybe i'll capitolize on the mass public's fear this time and write a book, create a website and sell '2012 survival kits'. then i can laugh all the way to the bank on december 22, 2012.

or maybe not. i don't prey on the ignorance of others.
  • beyondtheveil said on Mar 29, 2009....
Travelr is right on everything as I know it. The only thing I know of that is unusual about 2012 other than the calendar starting over after 26,000 years is we will be in alignment with the galactic plane and I doubt that will spell our demise.

Matthew 24:36But of that day and hour knoweth NO MAN, no, not the angels
of heaven, but my Father only.

No one knows or can accurately predict the last days, the end of this world. Only
God knows that. I figure becuase it may not actually be etched in stone yet. If
only you know something is going to happen, no one else can possibly know. If
they guess or deduce the time, you can just change it to prove them wrong or
simply because not everything is just right yet. It may be that Jesus was saying
not even He knows when the end will come (and Jesus will return) because God
has not pinpointed the day yet. This and that must be in place (like the a re-
established Israel), but then it can happen anytime after that. However, maybe
not precisely right after that. I do not want to know exactly when I and all my
kin will die, but I know that everything in now in place so that it can happen any
time, and it will therefore not be a surprise when it happens. The Mayans could
not have predicted the exact year the world will end. That would prove the
bible wrong, and that is not going to happen. At best, the Mayans might have
predicted when conditions are going to be right (alignment of this and that) for
our planet to come to an end, even though it will not come to an end at that
    time.

I am still wondering if the "last days" means the last of the old consciousness of greed and destruction and a new consciousness of caring and loving one another and the planet we live on?? What are your thoughts???
  • travelr712 said on Apr 10, 2009....
that's one theory star, and instant global communication certainly goes a long way to making that more of a reality.

i'll try to do an overview. astrology is based on a 'platonic year', or the amount of time it takes the earth to pass through all 12 constellations of the zodiac. this takes @ 25,860 years. mathematically, that works out to 2155 years per sign. but since many factors influence how long that platonic year actually is, it can be rounded off to @ 2000 years. there is no concensus as to which age we're in right now. the last, or current, age is pisces (the fish). the one previous to that was aries (the ram). the next is aquarius (the water bearer). some think we entered aquarius 500 years ago, some think it was just recently, some think it will be in the near future, some think it will be 600 years from now. (this is why astrology is not an exact science).

ok, stay with me here, cause this is a bit obscure. from the old testament, jacob, who was named 'isreal', was born in 2000 b.c. so isreal, who's symbol was the ram, was born in 2000 b.c.

christ was born in 0 a.d. so christianity, who's symbol is the fish, was born in 0 ad. now, of course, these timelines aren't precise, but you get the idea.

so, if we're about to pass into the next astrological age, it seems reasonable to assume that the next major belief system will have something to do with the water bearer. will that bring world wide raised conciousness and peace? i don't know, but it's pretty cool to think about, huh?

its a prediction based upon astronomical cycles

the Mayan Calendar is not an interpretation of time, it is an astronomical measurement that holds up under scientific investigation. Somehow the Maya knew when these cycles occurred and were able to map them in their hyerogliphs.

the Constellation of Orion moves in conjunction with the largest pyramid in Egypt. the hand of Orion holds the sun directly above the point of the pyramid exactly upon solstice -- this same constellation appears exactly opposite with the hand still holding the sun at solstice every 26,000 years. Adrian Gilbert wrote a great book about this called "Signs in the Sky".

He proves scientifically that the Maya had created the most astronomically correct calendar among ancients. As with all past major empires the human condition led them to collapse. the current doomsday fad comes from a quantum mass of individuals that agree with people like Alien and Graham....when the population of these groups that worship death increase to a quantum level (as example, the cold virus is everywhere around us at all times, however, we only get a cold if our immune system lets it get a foot hold --- then the virus grows exponentially until it causes the symptoms of a cold) then the collective agreement field manifests as it has in all days past. this is proven by all of the major port cities that were engulfed by oceans.

earthchanges happen regularly and are happening right now. No one here can deny that the ice caps are melting....so why is it so hard to believe that those who lived through these epochs would try to warn future generations.

The Maya were destroyed by their own greed, why else would a civilization deforest its surroundings and create desert! This is exactly what the US did to all the forests that stretched from sea to sea? Now, there is a fire storm brewing because my family and neighbors killed the rivers and broke the food chain. So, now that the bee's won't even service agribusiness you will all get to see your quality of life descend as it did for the empire of the Maya and the Aztec!

sucks to be the living dead!

I might add that I ,along with many others, view the past and future as being about our choices.  If we continue to do what we are doing, as in deforestation, devaluing human life as millions more go into total poverty,  following leaders who obviously do not lead us into prosperity, interfering with Mother Nature;the list is endless ,  we will create our own doom.  We do not appear to need any help in doing all of this as we have done it so good,  so far,  and seem to continue in the same direction. As it is said"to continue doing the same things expecting different results is insanity".

Yes, I am pretty sure that is what it means. The coming of the messiah, Obama, is surely a sign of that. I am thinking about creating an Obama cult, a new relition, but I really do not want to shave my head. I wonder if that is required if you want to start a cult.

Camon Alien, you make me lought, sametimes, comon!!, nothing abaut Obama, nothing abaut a new cult, but a re thinking, wy not, you can asweall, you have a lot of theory, in your mind, dasent let you think other reality, you have your ourn experience that im sure is the reason way, but soon or latter, you would change your mind, becouse samething will melt your ice behaind your thot.,you dont bother me at all, i understan you, your way of thinking, for me is so clear, you represent a  percent, and you know that, but dasent mean, it coul be samething else, you have to be open to understan too, like my spanglish, i think you probably can hate...or my illegal situation, as i call my self...have a good day Alien, i even like you..just sametimes.
