With the car insurance up again it was time to look around. I used all the normal comparison websites to get the best deals, but I always find the I end up with directline or tesco. This year it was Tesco to get the £50 gift card.
I am a good driver and I have never crashed. I wouldn’t know what to do if I did crash. I would never consider going out on the road with out tax and insurance. I don’t know anyone without insurance but you hear stories about it and there are constantly uninsured drivers on those traffic cop programs on Sky.
I don’t like the idea of people driving around without insurance, it will be me that pays if they hit me. Unfortunately it looks like the recessions going to make that number increase. It’s like the UK feels compelled to always copy the US so with the number of uninsured drivers increasing in the US its bound to happen here soon.
If you do crash and it doesn’t seem to bad, you could still end up with a whiplash claim against you. I don’t fancy driving around without insurance, with all the claim companies out there I don’t think it’s worth the risk.
In 2007 claims because of whiplash reached over £1 billion and accounted for 14% of car insurance premiums. If you are in a car accident there are many companies out there that will take up your case no matter what. I remember hearing about people that purposefully go out with cars where the brake lights can be disabled, then they brake sharply in front of you and claim for whiplash. Whiplash has no visual symptoms and does not show up on scans. Diagnostic is based upon what the patient tells the doctor and the type of accident, anyone wanting to make some money out of an accident easily could especially as many offer no win no fee so you have nothing to lose.
