I work for the local school district...

Now go look at your calender.

We're a little busy right now...

...actually we're a lot busy.

My job at this point involves identifying train wrecks in slow motion and preventing them from coming to fruition.

I am surrounded by newbs.

I stand mostly alone.

It's a good thing I've read The Book of Five Rings...

    Raz,

Go Rin No Sho - a very interesting choice of literature for dealing with a local school district. Rat's Head, Ox's Neck is probably an appropriate posture for situations like that. The Body of a Rock would also help boatloads!

And by anticipating train wrecks, you have already mastered the art of seizing the initiative, which is really what A Book of Five Rings - indeed all strategy - is about.

    Happy reading!

You no know me very well FaithInMind. ;) Since I was a child most of my wisdom and courses of inquiry into modes of thought have been tactical and strategic in nature. Some cheesey, some seemingly pointless, and some very obviously practical and useful.

The book is truly one for all of life. The Art of War is useful to but only for situations where conflict is taking place. The two largest identifying pieces of self for me are as warrior and servant.
