It is difficult for a designer to come up with a design that all people around the globe think it ugly; and it is still difficult to bring it to the production line, yet, designers from Vertu have made it happened. Lately, Vertu, the luxury mobile phone line of Nokia, has readapted the design of Signature Cobra which received much bad review too years ago. After changing the coiling serpent into an entwining dragon, Vertu has released this design. This latest limited edition mobile phone is named Signature Dragon, and is currently on display in the Wynn Hotel’s Vertu exclusive shop in Las Vegas, United States.

Before this, the coiling serpent design on the keypad and the designer’s fanciful color choices have successfully won Signature Cobra that year’s ugliest luxury mobile phone. And this year’s entwining dragon doesn’t make much significant changes compared with the previous version. The image of Chinese dragon is always high and mighty, yet we can see the dragon on the Signature Dragon in display looks almost like a snake, not a clue of the dragon soul is to be spotted, we can say it is another design for disaster. The price of the Signature Cobra in 2006 is up to RMB300,000 Yuan, with the serpent made in whole diamond and crystal. Although the price of this year’s new version is not yet announced, we can expect it will be even more astonishing.
