Has even one person here ever gotten a check from Google Adsense? The reason I ask is a blogger I know just reached the $100. mark, was ready to get her first payment, when they disabled her account. Are we being duped?
P.S. Most of us are on Soulcast and other blog providers because we want a free and uncensored place to speak our mind, vent, rant, or rage against the machine or what have you.
And I believe that is what the Soul Cast creators intended as well. But once you add that Adsense number to your account, you are no longer anonymous because Google Adsense knows who you are, and they can read your posts and decide you are just not company material. And all for what...a pittance should they ever pay you. My integrity as a writer is worth more than $100, which I may or may not get someday from my Adsense account. I guess the price of shutting me up is higher than that. I'm not going to run around writing vanilla blogs for their corporate mindset. Do I expect them to close my account before they pay me. Yes. Will I be upset when they do it. Yes. I hate being rejected or made to feel like I just wasn't up to snuff.
Will I get over it? Yes, I hope so.

while i'll admit the timing is suspicious, i have a hard time believing that's the case. everything else i've seen about google suggests they run things fairly and sensibly, and this would obviously fly in the face of that.

is there any chance the action was just an accident or that she somehow did something that violated the terms of the program?

i'm still less than halfway there, myself, so i can't speak from my personal experience.

ha purple that is a good question.
does adsense will only start paying out when the account hit $100,right.?
that means like for my account there will be a long way to go.. may be years then ..wonder if then adsense will still paying..
  • secretlife said on Aug 30, 2006....
    No idea purple.
It'll be a very long time before I'll know.

I've never personally gotten a check from google because I've never reached $100, but I know a few different people that have. It's google, one of the largest companies in america. I really don't think they are scamming people.
  • InterplanetJanet said on Aug 30, 2006....
You're right bloc, the large corporations in America would never take advantage of unsuspecting citizens. I'll believe they pay when I deposit the check into my bank account.

I've already been disabled from AdSense once. It is so easy for them to make a "judgment call" that there has been an appearance of impropriety on your account, and *POOF* it's all gone.

Sheesh, if a little swearing gets your account turned off, I'm basically screwed because I have erotica in my soulcast account. I don't remember them having a censorship policy in their TOS. If they are hard-nosed about that, almost every blogger on here would be disqualified. And in my mind a vanilla journal is just about pointless. I can do that at work.
  • venice77 said on Aug 30, 2006....
Oh boy! I really hope they would pay. Im new here so basically i know i still have a long, long, long way to go . But guys! This is still fun... Im just looking forward one day after many years probably, i will be surprised i will finally receive my check! For the meantime, i just wanna have fun blogging and meet new friends here...

i just wanna know, im new here too, but has anyone gotten paid from AdSense?
  • aleyson said on Aug 31, 2006....
i wish that i could get more clicks on my blog to even get close to $100 mark...haha i have a long long loooong way to go before i can find out if i could get paid. but a friend of mine has made good money from google ads. he gets $300 checks each month...wish i could do the same! so i don't think google would turn this into a scam. too many people would go against them if that were the case.
  • WhyChromosome said on Aug 31, 2006....
Paid me? No, not yet...I've not even been given an adsense logon yet -- just an email that they have my application and are checking that my primary URL (Ahem...here!) is acceptable or words to that effect. So yesterday, after seeing various comments on SoulCast and in other places I wrote to them direct (after hunting down the 'contact us' link in their website), telling them that there are growing concerns that they're pulling a scam. Note: NOT that they are, just that it looks that way.

I am waiting for their reply with bated breath...

I think the only reason that will cause Google to terminate your account is if they suspect that you are guilty of fraudulent clicks, or for some other actions contrary to their Terms Of Service (TOS).

Ask your friend about these again.
  • Tarakan said on Aug 31, 2006....
Hi everyone.. Google will never ever penalise or ban you if you do not violate their TOS.. eg. encouraging others to click your ads via MSN or soulcast frens.. Don ever click on ur ad.. Google is far smarter than to check your CTR is way above their alert red level to really investigate your account. However there are some cases where people getting banned for being hijacked by others.. A written letter for appeal did well to regain back the account though.. Try not to fall into that though.. Play safe.. Play honest.. Google loves that very much.. For me, well I have been in the Adsense business since May 2006.. Yes I have received my 1st check at the end of July.. That was US$124.00... Right now, I am averaging USD$25.00 per day... I create my own websites which I have interest in and promote it extensively to the search engines. You need alot of work to do this. Not easy though.. The check is paid via Citibank which Google uses for all its adsense payments. A green color one.. Rest assured Google will pay you once your account hit USD$100.00 with decent sincere clicks.. Hope this helps all those questions from this post and have fun blogging! Oh btw, I don earn via blogging so don worry I don need your clicks..
  • Tarakan said on Aug 31, 2006....
Profanity and other related keywords which is against Google Adsense TOS will defintely put your adsense account into trouble of getting banned.. If you just want to blog for fun with anything goes, don use adsense...It's pointless and you are just wasting your time staring at the Google account stats... Fyi, once your account has reached the USD$50.00 mark, Google will mail to you a pin code to enter into your account, this will take around 2-3 weeks to arrive to your letter box..

Once your account has reached the US$100 threshold mark last month, your payment history page will be updated with Payment in Progress this month on 23rd the following month and payment finally sent via check according to your currency options... For me in Singapore, it only take 3 days to reach my letter box mailed via Citibank Robinson Rd..

Affiliates and other money making programs will definitely make you money BUT the person has to buy the product first before you ever been paid..Adsense just need decent clicks on ads....

Thanks Tarakan, I guess that gives me a slim bit of hope, but only if I want to write g rated blogs.

I just got my first check from Google Adsense. Though I'm thrilled to have finally gotten a payment, I'm also more than a little confused. Here is a copy of what I  just sent to customer support on Soulcast.

'Recently on my Google Adsense account, I saw the list of sites that I've received money from. There are two on there...blogger.com and hubpages.com. However,
Soulcast has never appeared on my list. And I signed up on soulcast and added my number a long
time ago. Does that mean I've never earned a dime here? I'm confused. I compared the ca pub number on both my Soulcast acct and my Adsense acct and they match.'
Has anyone else here checked their Google adsense page? Is Soulcast listed?

    purple, it's been forever!

the only site i use for adsense is SC, but you might want to go into your adsense page and tell it to give your breakdowns by channel, then confirm that your adsense information is in SC.

I just thought I'd do a little update. I've now earned over $400 with Google Adsense so it's certainly worth it for me. Very little of that came from Soulcast writing but I think that will change now that I've been linking my entries to Stumbleupon. My readership in the last 2 days has skyrocketed because of Stumble Upon.
