Now it’s Wednesday morning, AFTER Weight Watchers and the cholesterol test. At least with WW I broke even. I didn’t lose, I didn’t gain. That was fine because the past week some heavy things have been made to eat, and no matter how little I took they’d still be high pointage, so I made due. Have to do it when you can’t afford to go out and buy what you need for that week. I guess I moved around enough with the good weather that we had, and it enabled me to work off any of the weight I would have gained. So, I’m not complaining.
So far as the cholesterol test, that wasn’t too bad. It nearly took forever just to get in though because the receptionist was ordering her and the whole office’s lunch for the next two days. Now, that’s fine, I know they have to eat too, but to me that’s something that you do when you’ve got more than two people working the desk. Further, when a patient has been waiting for a prolonged period of time already, and they tap on the window (that you have closed), you do not slide it open one inch and nastily stick your finger up with the “Wait a minute!” signal. The girl that came in right behind me, a nice girl at that, waited, she didn’t want to bother her, but the lady was taking forever and nobody else was opening the window to help anybody. So she lightly tapped on the window, after waiting fifteen minutes, and yes, the receptionist, while still on the phone, slid the window open a couple of inches and practically jabbed her hand through to hold up her finger. It was very rude in my opinion. Either way, after a point she finally got off the phone and took care of us.
I wasn’t looking forward to it, but at least they didn’t have to go into my hand this time. Also, for those who are squeamish about this stuff, you might want to skip ahead a few sentences. She also couldn’t go into the inside of my elbow, so she ended up going into my forearm on my right arm. It didn’t hurt much going in, but at first the blood wasn’t coming out so she had to move it around in there to get the vein. It wasn’t too bad, but it was weird watching her do it. Then she finally got it and the blood began to go, she filled the tube while I would occasionally glance at it and then look away. Finally I was just watching the whole thing and it started to HURT. She had to press it in deeper to get the last of the blood because I guess it had slowed down or something, I don’t know. Either way it was like FIRE in my arm. Finally she finished and took the needle out, popped a ball of gauze over it, taped that down and said I was finished. The whole thing took no more than five minutes. I’ll admit, I wasn’t starving much before hand, but afterwards, at the thought of ‘OK, now I can go get my breakfast/lunch.” got me starving.
I went then and picked up some food, a guilty pleasure of a treat for one thing … as I picked up a gooey butter cookie. They’ve never had those before! I HAD to try one! I haven’t eaten it yet, and I’m going to savor every last crumb when I do. For now, that turkey and Colby cheese sandwich I had was amazing. Also, I’m now enjoying my glass of milk, a little late, but better than not having it at all! Now I’m sort of tired and I don’t have much to do, so I think I’m going to play The Sims 2 Seasons after this. I can’t get on the internet, and there aren’t dishes to do (OKAY, there are some to put away, but that’ll just take a minute). So, anyway, now I'm off to finish eating, as I just took a break so as to prolong the goodness, lol.
