I would like to know what country everyone lives in. Just the country, I don't want your personal address. JUST THE COUNRTY!  I am going first (even though I feel most will not follow)

Australia.

I was born in Kent, England and my family migrated to Australia in Feb 1962. I have lived here ever since and am a naturalised Australia. I hold dual citizenship so can call myself English or Australian. I prefer Australian as I have been here most of my life and have never gone "home." I have lived in South Australia, Adelaide and Whyalla. I spent two years in Tasmania, where I lived in Georgetown. For the last 25 years and one month I have lived in Perth Western Australia.

I don't want detail if ya don't wanna give it........Just the name of the country you live in. Anyone willing? I [ promise I won't tell!

P.S. Mindie is in London as I write this and is due to touch down,Perth international, 6:00am Friday. Jenny and I are picking her up.

G'Day mate well you know where I am. Rockhampton Australia. For the last 18 months give or take.

I moved here from the Gold Coast where I lived since Feb of 94. apart from a 6 month stay in Osbourne Park, Perth about 96.

I was born in London and spent most of my time in SW London in Putney, Hammersmith, Fulham. My parents and sisters now live in Richmond.

I have not left Australia since I got here either but am thinking it's time to take my little girl to meet her grandparents. In fact I can't wait to go as my parents are stil in contact with some friends from way back and I know they'll give me hassle for being an "Aussie" I'm looking foward to caling them a pack of pommie bastards as I show them my shiny new Australian passport I'll keep my British one hidden. hehehehe

  • rupert7 said on Mar 11, 2009....
superbozo - look at that, I picked you for a "true blue Ozzie."  You lived in Osborne ParK? I am just down the road in Scarborough. In Duke street,5 houses from the corner of Duke and Scarb Bch road. (about 2km from the beach)

I expect you are looking foward to seeing youy family again, and it would be a very exciting trip for your daughter, how old is she? And of course your parents should meet their grandaughter,I'm sure they have told you that already! *smile* Dare ya to turn up of their doorstep wearing a bush hat complete with swinging corks!! lol

  • rupert7 said on Mar 11, 2009....
uniquely - thanks,  the only Eureka I have ever heard of is the stockade in Victoria Australia! In other words,I have no idea where that is! I know you have a great smooth Jazz station in your area 98.5fm. I listen to it streamed over the net sometimes.94.4fm also!

I was born in Dover , New Jersey in 1958 and the family moved to Pennsylvania in 1969 to get away from all the riots and high taxes . I still live in Pa. and i travel all over the USA and have been in 3 provinces of Canada during my travels .
  • uniquely-ironic said on Mar 11, 2009....

Well, Eureka, California is about as far north as you can go in Cali and it's right on the ocean.  Used to be a port town and as well as a whaling station back in the early days.

I live in Turkey (for now).  I was born and raised in the US (Milwaukee, Wisconsin), then in my mid twenties, lived in Stony Brook, Long Island, New York for a couple of years, then lived in Tampa, Florida for a couple of years, then various towns in Colorado (mostly Denver) for eleven years, then I left the US and lived in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico for 3 years, then in the tiny village of Wang Plado, Thailand for a few months, then I was homeless in various European countries for about half a year, then I lived in Szczecin, Poland for 9 months, then Prague for a year and a half, and now in lovely Bartin Turkey.  Who knows how long I'll be here or where I'll go next.

Good ol' Canada =) ... though it's winter, and it's cold, and there is way to much snow, and ice! I pretty much HATE IT! ha ha XD I'm living in the wrong place, since I can't STAND the cold at all!

Speaking of Australia, me and one of my friends have had this plan since like ... grade 7, that after were finished school were going to Australia for a month or so. =)
  • rupert7 said on Mar 11, 2009....
Sandman - thanks for the visit. My Grandparents lived in Dover,Kent England, my dad grew up there and we used to visit often. Travel all over the US....is that work or vacation time? - if you don't mind me asking.

uniquely - thanks for filling me in there! - hey how could anyone not live on the coast? I can't imagine being landlocked!

trav - well, they say home is where your heart is!  Indiana hey?...anywhere near me-myself& I? I think she is southern Indiana.

MissMimi - ah a nice stable lady! My wife Jenny has lived in Western Australia all her life too. The only times she has been out of the state is 2 trips to South Australia with me.

evil  twin -  It always looks a great place on the movies! And why move from where you are happy!

kruuyai -  man, you really were born under a wandering star! Do you ever get homesick? How many languages can you speak? If English only, how tough is that, or is English pretty universal these days?

mobile -  the state of confusion...ya got me there! I actually googled confusion USA as I had never heard of it! the penny finally dropped hahaha. Montana - thats near the Rockies, right?

ginger -  my niece Mindie has been on holiday in Italy,England and Germany, she comes home on friday, she might have a picture or two from Italy that I can post for you. there is a family from Sicily that are good friends of Jenny and I. Joe looks like a terrorist! Olive skin, dark eyes,5 O"clock shadow, every time he goes to the airport, which is often, he gets "picked on." His daughter, Oriana, says it is really embarrising! ( Joe is no terrorist, you would not meet a nicer man, he is a good mate of mine!)  I have a Italian friend, Carlo, who has just divorced his Australian born wife ( a very strange woman,I must say!) All he wants now is an Italian woman to marry......you been to Perth yet ginger? *smile*

Cussane - My son and his wife spent a fortnight in Ireland a few years ago, they loved it but said it was a very expensive place! (isn't everwhere expensive for tourists!)  How long has your daughter been here? Melbourne is beautiful but the climate is famous for its unpredictability! I was there on holiday way back in 1969.

simplyconfused -  My some is a draftsman and worked in Vancouver for 9 months,he was offered a job in a place called Eddington, he went and had a look but said it was too cold so he didn't take it!  You and your friend should stick with the plan and visit the land down under.....you'll love it!

EVERYONE!  Thank you for the input,I have enjoyed gettint to know you all just that little bit now!!

hey Rupert She has been in melbourne for 5 weeks now, having a blast, dont blame your son i lived in edmonton for a year, we called it the P&P capital of Canada (Porn shops and Pawn shops) and it is cold. Vancouver is a very nice city but expensive and now having a lot of gang crime ireland is expensive but then again arent all tourist areas, hell even Bogota was expensive, except of course the bullets are cheap Cussane

Hey mate. My little girl Jasmyn is four. I have not started planning a trip "home" (why would I still call it that?) but it is creeping up my list of priorities quite quickly. Small world hey I used to live in a unit on Hamiliton street just down the road from the Osbourne Park Hotel. I used to surf (was learning at the time) at scarborough beach most morning so I probably drove past your house a lot. I intend to wear the Aussie rugby leage shirt and the the hat with the corks would set it off nicely. Jasmyn will be kitted out also and have a boxing kangaroo soft toy. It'll definately get the poms fired up for sure. lol.
  • rupert7 said on Mar 11, 2009....
Cussane -  Is your daughter on holiday or has she moved here? Either way,I'm glad she is enjoying her stay. The locals always try and get the most out of tourists everywhere I expect.

trav -  memy told me,a long time ago, that she lives in southern Indiana, thats all I know. I am sure you will make it back to Chicago one day. *smile*

crudebusinessman -  G'day!  - how cool,to own a home in two countries! Nice to meet you.

super -  It would be great to show your daughter the "old country," lets be honest, this one has very little real history. Yeah! dress like that and you will really wind the Poms up! lol

Sir Rupert, I was born and raised in the Philippines to Filipino parents. I guess I would live here all my life. But who knows.. :D
  • rupert7 said on Mar 11, 2009....
Lioness - hello ....I used to work with a Filipino girl, years ago. To be honest i cannot remember her name, but she was beautiful. She called herself a Spanish Filipino. I don't know if you have ever seen the modern version of Jules Verne's "Time machine," but she reminded me very much of the girl in that movie, she told me other people thought so too! The Philippines look beautiful.
