Okay, how do I blog this without sounding like a trollop? Bah! Never mind. Who cares what other people think!
So after slogging through a swampland full of frogs, I think I've found someone with Prince potential. Yup, I'm talking about my date last night. Now don't get all excited, we didn't run off to Vegas or anything, but I had this incredibly nice time.
After work I hoofed it home post haste and got all tarted up. During our conversation we discussed what to wear since it really does matter if you're not exactly sure what you'll be doing on said date. I decided to go with the red heels again for good luck. Since we had decided against a hike (it was an evening date) I also decided to go with a skirt. So, properly decked out I drove over to meet him at the Stanford University Mall. (yes, they have their own mall)
We had exchanged cell #s, so when I got there I called him. We had agreed to meet in front of one of the stores. He showed up and looked a little stunned. (I'm already feeling great because this is a GOOD sign) He told me that my pictures didn't do me justice. What a charmer! LOL He had actually stepped into the said store and bought a picture frame. (likes shopping, another good sign) After putting it into his car (mid sized SUV) we walked inside the mall to a really cute little pastry shop.
We had agreed to cheesecake and coffee. He asked me if I wanted cheesecake or something else, and after a quick look I decided that the raspberry custard tart. We got our pastries and coffee and said in the breezeway at little bistro tables and talked. He let me eat the strawberries off the top of his cheesecake since he didn't like them. I did NOT offer to share my raspberries. He does some IT/database sort of job that's a little too complicated for me to understand, we talked a little about family, etc. After finishing the pastries, which were nearly microscopic, he decided that we should have one more pastry. I think he was just trying to prolong the conversation since I had crossed my legs and his eyebrows twitched.
After pastry we took a leisurely stroll around the mall window shopping and talking some more. He has a wicked sense of humor and is a good sport about me poking fun at him. I decided to let him kiss me. Yummy! Then, in a fit of nearly adolescent silliness, we walked back to his car and (I know, some of you think I shouldn't get into a strangers car) did a little old fashioned making out! Tee he he he We both agreed it was juvenile and somehow that was half the fun of it.
We were parked in a semi-busy parking lot by a busy mall. We both were giggling when the mall security truck drove by and shined it's lights on our vehicle. We were imagining the potentially embarrassing conversation should the mall security be bold enough to tap on the window.
"Yes officer, we're both over 21 and we DO both have places of our own. No, we're not trying to emotionally scar small children who might get an eyefull. We'll move along now."
Talk about taking you back! I haven't done this since I was in college! At some point we stopped since both of us have to work today. He has to get up really really early so I had pity on him and let him go home. He walked me back to my car and made sure I was safely on my way before going back to his car.
He texted me a good night and the mean bastard texted me a good morning at 5 am this morning. I let him know in no uncertain terms (texted back) that I was still sleeping! But, how sweet of him to not make out and run away. :) I think I'm going to see this one again.
