Nobody can have blind faith without denial. Denial of reason. Reason isn't always the answer. But how can a complete NON-ANSWER like "faith" be reliable? God-fearers are trampled all the time by nature and crime, but they never blame God for it. They've been faithful but still got shit on. So they blame themselves for not being faithful ENOUGH? Denial. But oh they thank this God for anything positive - how does that work? Oops? That's a reasonable question.

Why is faith always blind to you silly religion critics? Does faith have to be willfully blind?

What benefit would it be to blame God? Will that help anyone's situation? It's like blaming the Earth for volcanic eruptions or tidal waves. We don't blame the Earth for its destructive events, but we are grateful for a beautiful day.

Will reason necessarily end suffering? No. You said it yourself. Humans are not completely reasonable. In fact, what we call "reason" is actually a socially learned internal logic by which we operate, which leads us to conclusions, norms and behaviors that are often completely unreasonable.

Is it reasonable to deride the faithful out of your own arrogance, ignorance and prejudice?

Here's my question, cur: how do you reach a belief based on a fantastic story? How do you actually come to BELIEVE it? If not willfully, then what the hell (no pun intended) is it? A lightbulb goes off because of ... ? OF WHAT? Let's take Superman, for example. If someone told me "That's a real story. That really happened. Aliens who look human - in our image - sent their only surviving son to Earth to save us, where he got super-powers and performed miracles." If I can suddenly believe that, REALLY believe it, then what do I NOT believe? Is there any standard for belief, or am I now an open slate subject to events that might or might not bring on an epiphany?????
And BTW what is more arrogant - claiming exclusive truth or admitting the unknown? What is a faith-based guy doing shouting about "ignorance?" Knowledge is based on reasoning and experience. Faith is based on emotional reactions. And these institutions founded by the "faithful" are hotbeds of prejudice against "them." ALIEN says "don't get intellectual on me" when I ask him if he chose his belief in Jesus as an adult after comparisons to other faiths or if he was exposed to Christianity primarily from his earliest days and really, at some point in life, had little choice but to leap fully into it when the road got rocky? That's getting intellectual? Kids brainwashed into religionsdoesn't validate "faith". Ah well...at least you TRIED to be reasonable.

As Christian's we learn that the just shall live by faith alone, so what is faith and how do we get it....
You do not have to live in bondage to things that you have done in the past nor things that others have done to you. Set yourself free through none other than through the Lord, Jesus Christ....
