This morning when I woke Olia up for school, she told me that she had off from school because of a snow day.  I went to bed before Olia last night and the district called and left a message that school would be closed today because of the winter storm.  Needless to say, Olia was thrilled!! Her three friends from around the corner came over in the morning.  They played in the snow for awhile and then came inside.  Olia could not find her sled this morning.  We keep telling her to put her things away, but she doesn't always do that.  One of her friends actually found her sled in the creek at the edge of our property.  After they played inside for a few hours, the other girls'(3 sisters) mom took Olia and her daughters to a huge hill in the next township so that they could go sledding.  Olia had a great time.  She went out for dinner and had pizza with them.
   Our friends who are adopting Dasha are in Kiev right now.  I think their appointment with the SDA is not until Wed or Thur. They wanted to spend some time seeing Kiev before they headed to Odessa.  Dan and I didn't want to take off any extra days from work. I guess it is good to have that flexibility to be able to travel and sightsee in Kiev.
     Today I dyed curtains for Olya's room.  They were the curtains that were already hanging up on the window.  I was going to buy new curtains but I thought I would try dying the old curtains first.  They came out a bit darker that I had thought so I will wait and see what they look like when they dry. Olya wants her room painted pink and the room needs to be painted anyway. So we will have the room painted.
