Hello all, I have a friend who is taking her childs father to court to see if he can terminate his parental rights. This guy has not been in the childs life at all. He pays child support for the child but he do not spend any time with the child. Yes the child knows who he is but the calls another man daddy and has for the last 8 years the child is 9 years old. This man wants to adopt the child and make them his own but the father is saying no way.

Is it unfair to ask a man to do this even though he is not in the childs life at all?

    Nope.

    If someone else wants to adopt the child and provide what the child needs, and the other man isn't in the picture, it's more than fair.
