back from karaoke!!!! not going to vegas but the whole experience was...well...it was an experience!  i can now check that one off my life list "competed in karaoke contest"...
 
first of all a BIG THANK-YOU to PAPERGIRL for hosting a karaoke party in my honor :)  and a BIG THANK-YOU to all of you who sent me well wishes, good thoughts and good luck :)  another BIG THANK-YOU goes out to TRAV and SLICKNICK for cheering me on and putting up with me!!!!
 
here's a re-cap of the night for everyone who wasn't there.............................
 
i rushed out of work and ran home to get dolled up and pick up martha.  martha and i caught a ride with trav out to the bar that the competition was being held at...i was soooo nervous, sick to my stomache nervous! 
 
we walk in the bar and OMG there sits slicknick....decked out in a rockstar shirt, pimpdaddy hat, and rockstar shades....he looked awesome! his whole rockstar aura and presence helped to calm me down and make me giggle!
 
i started pumping in the "liquid courage" immediately.  the rest of the crew trickled in.  one of my friends made me a sign that said "i need to go to vegas" and another friend made an awesome sign that played on my last name. 
 
i introduced martha to the group...she was VERY popular!!!

the karaoke contest ended up starting late, much, much later than originally expected! while we waited many beers were consumed, shots were enjoyed, and .... martha followed suit...

as you can plainly see in the next picture...martha had WAAAYYYY too much to drink...it was about that time that she announced that she wanted to change her name (she just didn't think martha was sexy enough) all of my friends gave her suggestions and the new name she chose is.....VENGA!!! when i accidentally called her martha she was quick to remind me that she is only to be addressed as VENGA - what a diva

still waiting on the competition to start i chat up a couple other girls who are in the competition, i tell one of them how nervous i am and she offers me a 1/2 of a xanax for my nerves. 

i don't take stuff like that, but that night i did, and i was drinking...let's say it together "FRAGGLES?! WHAT THE HELL WERE YOU THINKING????"

we ALL know that i'm no polly-anna, but i DONT do illicit drugs and i DONT take pills not prescribed to me by a doctor, and i CERTAINLY don't normally mix pills and booze.  i was just so nervous that i thought it was a good idea.

the xanax and alcohol mix are responsible for the next picture....i cropped it because i REALLY prefer to NOT share the full atrocity with the world, but yep, those are boxer shorts on my head, i have no idea who they belonged to or where they came from...yikes...

mind you...i haven't even been on stage to sing yet.

when they finally start the competition i find out that i will be the 15th singer. why is that important? because i took xanax and alcohol together and by the time my name was called i was a wreck. a train wreck that is.

i mean, i had a blast, but my singing stunk, really, really stunk. it was AWESOME to be up there (stinking or not) with all my friends dancing with their signs for me :) 

as you can guess, i was in a world of hangover hurt yesterday, and i'm sorry that i didn't report back sooner, but i was busy trying not to think to hard!!! lol!!!

(fyi....i have chosen to skip over the REST of the evenings event...heh)

    LOL you're such a nut!  I'm surprised that martha didn't take the other half of the xanax.  And mixing that with alcohol!!!  I'm surprised they didn't have to wheel you onto the stage for your song.

    uni - i know, i know, i know...it did take 3-4 people to wrestle me OUT of the bar at the end of the night because i was being a brat and saying i wasn't ready to go home.

    OMG! I'm definately going to come out and go drinking with you!  With both of us there it will take the swat team to evict us if we're not done drinking yet ;)  Of course that will be when the weather there is warmer so as not to freeze my thin blood.

Venga did too!  I probably would have on purpose gotten all plotzed if I knew I had to sing on stage, liquid courage works like no other for me ... which can be VERY dangerous somethings, lmao, hilarious to some, not others!  So, even at this later date, have you figured out where the boxers came from?  Venga probably did it ... she looked like she was preparing to be up to something, lol.  Hope you're feeling better by this point!
