In the bid to settle my frayed nerves, I randomly surfed in youtube by typing the keyword Philippines.  A lucky night, I consider because I serendipitously stumbled on 5 part clips of Anthony Bourdain:No Reservationfeaturing the Philippines, which was shown more than a week ago in the Travel Channel (16th of February).

Writing my last three blogs, I am beset and feel swamped with varied conflicting emotions. One of it is homesickness for my birth country.  I am not sure if it has something to do with leaving yet again a home of 16 years - Germany, where I spent my adulthood (I was 21 when I left Manila, where I was born and raised).

I hope you will enjoy the clips like I did.  I will be reading the blog of Anthony Bourdain over the Philippine episode of his show, after I post this blog, and perhaps watch the controversial Anthony Bourdain: No Reservation in Beirut right after.

Don´t worry about me, I would write out my feelings when it gets too overwhelming.  Now I simply want to lose myself in other thoughts.

Good night SCers.  Thank you for viewing.

P.S.  I will get back to comments as soon as I can or as soon as we are back in Holland.  Again, thank you!

    Great, kapatid! :)

This makes me indeed glad that I posted.  I wanted to save the links here to show the girls later today; they are getting more and more curious of Pinas :D and this is how I want to begin telling them of the Philippines out of their own interest.

whispers: this is the first time I watched Bourdain btw lol...

I am familiar with his name ... maybe read about him years ago...but I forgot exactly when or where for that matter.  Since we have the children or when the Kim came (middle-daughter) we gave up television, and had the machine only for viewing DVDs.

Ever since meeting Piet though we started watching television again.  But I don´t know, I have to check if they have Anthony Bourdain: No Reservation in the Netherlands.

    ate papel ~

    Gingery!!!

Ti amo mia cara amica... ((((((((((((((warmest embrace)))))))))))))))))))

I knew it! I have SC mostly as my source for everything beautiful LOL

I read so much here in SC, I am sure I have followed so much of Ed´s foodie blogs, maybe it was there I snapped on the name!

Has AB been in Italy too?

I don´t like watching episodes on television to be honest.  I am more of the get the DVD collection of the whole season girl LOL...I hate commercials...and I love watching shows in marathon...

This is how I watched all season 1-6 of Sex and the City, one summer 3 years ago!

Will you go home to Italy this summer, bellisimma?

I too got inspired to talk about my country showing his Italian episodes.

If you want to see the video and read my blog.....you can read it here...

    I am trying to plan a trip this summer, yes....but the money for two tickets are very tight..... wish me luck@....{hugs}

Thank you for the link, mia cara!

I am sending all good thoughts that you manage with extra on the side!

    *sigh*

I know how it is.  I still cannot manage to bring the girls "home".  BUT this year we are planning a family get together (my mom, and my two brothers!!!) for Christmas in Ireland... lol...yes, very ironic because we have to go to a foreign land to get together since it is much more expensive to meet in the Philippines!

    (((((((huggies))))))))

Now, I will relish reading your blog because I still discover that there are so many hidden treasures in your archives :) Please please, don´t ever delete them!

[don´s a shirt with a label on the front: Save SC Archives] :D

Paper, I'm sure those are more than interesting ... might have to sneak on to watch them while I'm at work, as it would take me endless hours to view them here at home.  I couldn't imagine the homesickness you would be feeling.  I mean, I felt it when I stayed with my mom for any length of time after she moved out, but that was nothing in comparison to the distance away you are.  However, I do think you are on to something when mentioning that it's perhaps brought on by the fact that you'll be leaving your home of 16 years, so it feels like you've been uprooted again.  All will be well though, once you're there with Piet and all is as it should be, you'll probably feel more at home than you have in a long time ... at least I hope you do.  Take care Paper, I'm off to bed soon.

Just read my Morning Paper. When will you sleep? hihi.
[hugs JoJo] I will read the next one after commenting on this.
It's 11 am and I have to clear the house for your arrival.
It was soooo nice seeing the 5 parts on the Philippines!
Now I know where your craving for different tastes comes from.

And Ginge! That was a beautiful one too of him being in Italy.
Lets all rent a villa there.

    ;-))
