Sean Penn said it best...."you commie homo loving sons a guns"

What a bunch of shit!

What happened to the Oscars?  They used to actually be about awarding the best for their work........MILK? did anyone even watch that? slumdog millionaire? The reader?

Hollywood used to give awards to films that people actually watched and enjoyed....now it's all about political activism and making themselves feel good.

Well....it's finally come full circle hasn't it? Sean Penn, commie son of blacklisted actor Leo Penn is on top of the heap!.....and Hollywood would have us all cheering for joy for their triumphant conquer of the good ol USA!

Enjoy your little party scumbags!.....you've got 2 years and then the party is over!

I was unaware that there was a time when the awards were not political. I heard they were political when I was a kid.

I have never liked Sean Penn. Not when he was punching camera men and beating on his wife and not now. He can't even act unless he's playing a prick.

Everyone expected best actor to go to someone else and I believe the country is somewhat mystified over this. It was bad enough when they gave best actor to him for Mystic River overlooking Johnny Depp for 'Pirates'. I haven't gotten over that one yet.

Sean Penn isn't even one of the 'most bankable' actors. He's not even on the list. Johnny Depp is number two. I haven't watched the Academy Awards for years. I look to the awards centering around People's Choice and Golden Globes, where by the way, Mickey Roarke won best actor.

ah, and i actually LIKE Mickey Roarke and his comeback story.......

same ole same D6- maybe they don't realize we're all very aware of the agenda and perhaps that's why the ratings are in the toilet?
  • andora said on Feb 24, 2009....
i guess, if i read btwn the lines here that d6 and secret believe there is a gay agenda in the media?

Is that what happened in the african/american civil rights movement? that the media's coverage of civil conflict was simply an 'agenda'?

civil rights are supposed to be for all of us in the US. not just for you politically correct types that get jealous when justice outshines you. Sean Penn uses his considerable power to draw attention to human rights issues and little people like d6 get all hot under the collar

    homosexuals deserve human rights

if you call that an agenda then praise be to the liberal media. as a published free lance journalist, I will state from experience (holds more weight than an opinion from the peanut crowd) that the media is a corporate propaganda machine that does not have human rights as an agenda

    even so,

the bush administration has united the world in its new found hunger for universal human rights and all the naysayers to this agenda are simply filling the ranks of the living dead that will soon disappear from sight. those who don't believe in evolution simply do not have an acumen for evolutionary growth on mental, emotional or spiritual levels and their bodies usually demonstrate this

sucks to be the living dead!

    btw

one of the best academy performances i have ever seen, and i'm a fan...loved hugh jackman and beyonce in that 30's tyle musical. the whole theme was so very sentimental about the history of the movie industry and i had tears of joy for the hardworking faithful souls that were living their dreams right before our eyes. it takes a certain type of jaded soul to bemoan the joy of success. it was beautiful. I saw the Spirit Awards the night before and enjoyed that too, simply bc i am grateful that hollywood has more diversity now with the advent of independent films. I'll be making those in the near future.

hollywood is the worlds capital whether you monkies like it or not

and Arnold is a good republican who took on his own party

i knew he was a democrat in disguise
  • secretlife said on Feb 24, 2009....
andora, please do not refer to me as a monkey.

i'm glad you enjoyed the show.
    i did not.

  • D6fer said on Feb 24, 2009....
andora.....homosexuals have human rights....they don't deserve special or extra human rights.

The Oscars are supposed to be awards for the best Actors/Actresses , Movies, Directors, ETC.......they simply do not reflect that.

Arnold is a democrat in disguise? ...Duh!

btw.....you don't need to read between the lines, I'll tell you straight up.....Hollywood has a gay/communist agenda....plain and simple......Sean Penn pretty much rubbed our noses in it.

And yes the media is liberal......look at all of these phony polls that they have been laying on us recently......they tell us that Obamas popularity is holding high, and that most Americans support this stimulus plan.....bullshit.....take an instant poll online....go to AOL....they have them there.....the numbers don't reflect those of all of the "expert" polls....here's an example:

    Poll Results

Has your opinion of Obama changed since he took office?
    Yes, it's worsened
    48%115,727 No
    27%64,452 Yes, it's improved
    25%59,854
    and this:

Do you want Congress to pass the economic stimulus bill?
    No57% Yes43%

I don't know what you're all bitching about, I threw my TV out almost ten years ago. If it wasn't for my wife and her Tivo addiction, I wouldn't even watch "House" unless it was released seasonally on DVD.

The Oscars are just a big pat on the back for all involved. You all have the option to change the channel and make the ratings drop worse... I heard Hugh Jackman was a pretty good host, though. I don't think I've seen a Oscar-nominated movie since Apollo 13, and that was because I lost the remote in the couch that day and it was the only channel that would come in half-way clear...

Besides, at least that camera whore Penn gave props to Mickey Roarke. Otherwise, I guess I would have been bitchy, too. It made no difference that Penn played a queer, I just didn't have much interest in the movie itself. Gay people have been elected into public office since before the birth of America... Just ask the French!

Oh, and Andora, I have to respectfully disagree with you in that I'm not a monkey, either. Arnold (although I like to watch him blow shit up on the big screen and will pay multiple times to watch said shit blow up) is not anyone I would consider in the top list of conservatives (see bottom 40), and personally I feel that if California fell into the ocean tomorrow, nobody out my way would really miss it. Same goes with NYC, too. Both mega-states think we're just a bunch of Nat Light drinkin' lemming rednecks out here in the midwest anyway. Also, I'm a bit cloudy on the whole "living dead" terminology, you got a reference you can send my way? I'm curious and it sounds interesting.
  • andora said on Mar 01, 2009....
it must have been a real bitchy day for me kids

sorry about the monkey statement and sorry about saying anyone is a 'little people' but, as you know the celebs think of us that way. whether or not i like their celeb power is not my point here, they know they have power and tend to be humanists

Arnold? well, I had mentioned that the Republican Party is going away. The Dems are the new conservatives, and the Independents are the majority that must come to terms with their split, but the GOP is in the tank with the economy bc they are the ones that waged two wars, while cutting taxes...not a good strategy when combined with banking de-regulation that made white collar crime highly successful. Arnold is having to figure out if he is listening to the little woman or limbaugh...i'm pretty sure she has more influence here, especially since limbaugh is a joke

so i listen to fake polls, yet you want me to buy the on line polls? i don't think so

at any rate, Obam stepped into a nation that is falling off of a cliff and we should take all the conservative v liberal shackles off of him in the hopes of keeping the tailspin from taking us into a mad max reality...even tho many are already armed to the teeth to deal with what is coming their way. seeds are better than guns bc they help the neighbors rather than shoot them :]

and anyone that is interested in my thesis on the Battle of the Sexes can read it for free here. this is my gift to you bc i care, even if i'm a little bitchy about it :]

    aloha
  • javadewd said on Mar 01, 2009....
Piss on the elitists, I'd rather read some of your stuff anyway, Andora. Thanks for the link...

I don't think that conservatism is going away, although the Republicans in office are screwing it up for the rest of us. They just can't seem to do anything right. It will take the liberals falling flat on their face to turn that around, and we don't have to worry about that not happening any time soon. They seem to be full steam ahead...

Arnold's wife is a Kennedy who voted for Obama, and I don't see a T-800 sleeping with Rush... Brrrr... Obama promised his voters the moon and the stars when it came to entitlements and the like. I was sitting in the waiting room of the hospital the other day when a group of black ladies were asking each other "are you ready for the stimulous check that Obama is going to send all of us?" I didn't want to get into a fight by telling them that Obama already killed the Bush stimulous checks that would have gone out this year once people paid their taxes... I still hear people [especially liberals] talking about how they don't have to pay their bills because Obama is going to free them from that... I'm telling you, it's slavery in reverse... Who owns who when I'm paying their mortgages?

Why does a hell-bent-for-leather dash out to the extreme far left or the extreme far right go in opposite directions, but quickly bring you to the same place?
  • javadewd said on Mar 01, 2009....
Because extremism folds back on itself. It is the natural state of things. The saddest part is that people who are centrists never get anything done. Their biggest problem is complacency, which then causes the rest of us on both sides to get fed up and push for the extremes.

interesting analogy javaweed, and thanks for the compliment

beyond: i agree with you completely. in the middle is the heart, where most all people wish to reside.

in regard to the inequity that javaweed is referring to...i feel as though our defunct tax code has created the type of extreme feelings of inequity that many taxpayers are suffering from. a flat 1% tax combined with a Consumer Tax would end the stupid war between the have's and the have not. This is why i was wishing Ron Paul would get into office cus i'm sick of our tax code, sick of our foreign policy, and wishing someone would have the guts to kick HMO"s to the curb!

    mahalo for your aloha
  • javadewd said on Mar 02, 2009....
The flat tax idea has always had merit to everyone except for the politicians...
  • andora said on Mar 04, 2009....
we are the politicians my friend

they simply demonstrate our collective denial

once an individual recovers from hypocrisy they tend to direct the conversation

as Rachel Maddow said the other day, "the arch of the Universe bends toward justice"

    in this i wholeheartedly believe

    and i bank on it

  • javadewd said on Mar 04, 2009....
I'm hardly a politician. If you put me in a room full of politicians, I don't immediately try to screw the rest of them over like a cage full of rats. I don't tell my constituents that I'm doing things "for [their] own good" or "for the children" and then bilk them for thousands of dollars in "campaign finance" money while serving my own self interests, buying whores and ignoring the laws of the land.

I usually spend my days finding solutions for small businesses and the people who run them or work in them. I fix problems. I turn a profit because I have to turn a profit. I cannot continue to find solutions for people if I'm dead broke and can't eat. Yay for Capitalism! It's kinda like the guy who can't save a drowning victim because he is drowning himself. I serve my client's interests and they adore me for it.
