I have been building my website from scratch since July. I'm fairly happy with the out come, even though there is still a lot of work to be done. I have slowly begun to advertise and for the past couple of weeks I am coming to realize that advertising may be harder then the actual building of the site. I have about 30 maybe 40 pages and counting. How do people do it....make a success of a website? About how long should it take to start getting good traffic?
My biggest thing is how do I get people to stay long enough for even the first page to load? The highest amount of visitors I get only stay between 0-10 seconds, that's not even long enough for the page to load. What am I doing wrong? What can I do better? Where is the best traffic coming from? How do others make their pages load so fast?
