The big problem in this country now is that there are two polarized
extreme groups of people. Each group (we can call them Democrats
and Republicans) want the country run in almost exactly opposite
ways. In the past, there was really not all that much difference
between these two groups. They both wanted what was best for
America and just had a difference of opinions about how that should
be accomplished.

Classically, one group wants more and more government involvement,
power, and regulation while the other group wants less and less
government interference and oppression. Early on in this nation's
history, there was little time to get too caught up in our internal
national affairs because we often had to unite and go kick someone's
ass back where they belonged. Except, of course, for that one time
that we actually came to blows regionally -- north and south.

The big difference now is, this country if filled with people who do
not share the original vision for America and are more like the carpet-
baggers that flooded into the south after that one internal war. They
are here to milk America for all they can and some are here hoping to
destroy our way of life -- death to the great satan, supporter of the
little satan (Israel).

Another difference now is that we seem to be in a struggle to keep one
side from enslaving the other. There are issues that have no answer in
compromise like abortion, homosexuality, illegal immigration. One side
thinks these things are absolutely wrong. The other side thinks these
things are just personal choices.

The struggle between the two sides is no longer a competition similar
to a little league baseball game. It is now an us against them situation.
We now have people, like our new president and most of congress, who
are seriously out to dismantle our Democracy and replace it with what ...
socialism, communism? Talk about enslaving ... everyone.

They say they are not. They claim to be for liberty and freedom, but
try saying something that opposes the party line. If you are a resident
of Hollywood, you had better not do that. There are probably one or
two who would tell you about the kind of intollerance they face. Or try
teaching at an American university and mention that you believe that
God created the world in seven days. Maybe try mentioning that you
think global warming is not caused by anything man is doing or that
global warming is a crock all together. You can kiss your job goodbye.

Yes, we live in different times than any of us have ever seen. We are
now in a time of right is wrong and wrong is right. Just look at some of
the bassackward views that people spout on this site. It is downright
disturbing that people, especially people who claim to be Americans,
could think the way they do.

They take delight in the fact that morons are out to discredit the
previous administration and the people who worked in it. The people
that worked hard for many years to keep us safe from further attacks
by terrorists. Thanks to them, you and your family are not dead right
now, which could have been the case if you had been in the right
place at the wrong time. I fear that it will take another disaster like
9/11 for most to appreciate what Bush and his administration were
doing. But, oh my god, they poured some water in some poor, innocent
people's faces. Do you honestly believe that something similar did not
take place during every other president's tour of duty? You poor sap.

I keep hammering on a couple of issues like abortion and homosexual
marriage because these pretty much demonstrate what liberals are
all about. They are willing to sell out our country and side with
terrorists, or whatever, to make sure that their sinful behavior is
protected by law. They have basically become a cult of perversion
and death, and have sucked (pardon the pun) mainstream Americans
and corporations into their web of deception. If someone even hints,
in public, that homosexuality might be wrong, all hell breaks loose.
Probably because that is what is backing this movement -- all hell.

Anyway, we have left the era of battle during an election and then
back to all for one and one for all. We are now in a tug-of-war. Each
side is afraid the other side might pull them one foot closer, one foot
closer to the pit and their destruction. But all the while it is America
that is moving one foot closer to the pit of destruction. All of us are
about to go over the edge, and our enemies can simply march in and
shoot the survivors, or, more likely, behead the survivors.

Oh well, the jackasses in Hollywood will probably try to create a
reality show about it all. That is about how seriously they view the
whole thing.

I fear that the far left knows very well that they can not possibly hold power in the traditional legal fashion......Obama's popularity is already slipping rapidly.....support for this stimulus scam is going down the toilet.....the neo-marxist movement will now try and take control of the masses.....they will redraw voting districts.....they are growing government....enslaving more and more Americans in a government dependancy........I just hope we have time to turn it around in 2010.....if we can get a big enough opposition in congress voted in, then 60% of this stimulus plan can be blocked.

Yep, so much of politics is smoke and mirrors. They vote something in and then
it just dies, most of it does not get done, and no one is the wiser. We forget
about it. For example, where is that $700 billion (?) they were voting on back
in the Fall? Where does that stand? It is all about putting on a show and
making the proletariats believe that they have done something. How much of
the current billions do you think the average Joe will get or see a benefit from?
The whole deal is psychology, psychology, psychology. If they outlaw guns,
only criminals will have guns. Why can they use that argument on abortion and
homosexual issues, but not guns or whatever? If laws are not consistent, there
is no law, not really. We have a couple of generations of people now who think
that the law is negotiable. Just watch Boston Legal, for example. Something
is the law, but not really. We can bend it for this reason or that, especially if it
flies in the face of political correctness. Speaking of, it will be interesting to see
how the media dances around issues concerning OhBummer for the next few
years. There is already an uproar about political cartoons dipicting him in a
    derrogatory way. ha ha ha

"Appearing on Meet the Press, [Gen. David Petraeu] made a compelling case against torturing terrorist detainees, saying he found it far more pragmatic and beneficial to stick to methods authorized by the army field manual."...

We are nearing a crossroads -- are we a Democracy or
are we Socialists?

Let the mud slinging begin.
