Do you believe in the Devil? The leader of the dark? Do you believe that he is always trying to tempt you and make you do things that are wrong (sin)??? Do you believe that he is in control of the "legions of demons" as it says in the bible?? I don't and here is why:
Okay so again I have to think about this with a logical mind.. I for one believe that if I can't apply logic to it then it can't be for me...
I don't believe in the devil or that there is one being in control of all that is evil and negative in this world nor do I believe that he is always trying to convince me to do wrong...Religion equates every negative human characteristic to the devil: hate, greed, vengance, gluttony etc... It also equates every negative human act as being "of the devil": murder, rape, abuse of any kind, theft, etc......
How can one person be in control of all of these things?? The one thing that all of these examples have in common is control.. Either as a way to get control or as being out of control, still it is about control.... These are HUMAN characteristics, even little kids have these traits... I see my children show greed and dislike (hate) all the time, its not something that they do to be mean nor is it because they are bad kids... They are human like the rest of us and therefore they have the same emotions we all do... Being human and being on this Earth means that we all have these negatives in our DNA, they aren't the devil they are human nature!
Okay so if every negative is equated to the devil and every negative is about control of some sort, then doesn't it seem illogical that there can be a single leader of all of these negative beings?? How could one person be in control of so many who, by nature strive for complete control??They would never allow another to rule them because that would be completely against their own nature!!
I don't believe that there is a devil, I do believe that there is evil in this world but I believe that the majority of it is man made, we made it but we don't want to admit it... We don't want to say that we are to blame for anything much less something like all the negativity in this world...
It is easier to be able to blame a fake entity like the devil than to say "okay, I was being a really bad person and I screwed up!!" I disagree with this because it give so many people a "way out" they don't have to take responsibility for their actions because "the devil made me do it"...
The devil doesn't make you drink, cuss, smoke, do drugs, abuse people or anything else... YOU DO!! We are all responsible for our own choices in this life, if you are big enough to make the decisions you do then you have to be big enough to take responsibility for you actions as well..
I see the devil as a device that was set up to allow the church and its members to get away with the attrocities that it inflicts on others... (Like the Holy Wars and the Priests molesting kids) I have never once heard one of these Priests say that they were wrong, they haven't owned up to their actions, instead they have hidden behind a lie...
Like I said I do think there is evil in this world but it is an evil that humanity has been the author of...
