We sure have a roster of "popular members" in this community. To those who are still not in the A-list, may I ask if any of these SC celebrities ever graced your blog with a comment? Do you feel like a second-class citizen in this community? Or is there such a classification?

i don't think this community is stratified into first-class and second-class citizens. i never felt i was a second-class citizen here. a good number of members read me, and i'm thankful for that. but i guess they read my blogs not because i'm in the A-list, but because my articles interest them. i have blogs which do not attract the readers. it's really a question whether one's blog is interesting to the reader. in my case, i do read as many blogs as i can, depending on my available time, and depending on whether the topic interests me.

Hey you are right, no one commented on my blogs, no I forgot once "silverwhisper" did comment on a blog written by me..
You are pretty right, as long as you dont show you are alive, no one is going to bother about finding out whether you are or not...
    ;)
Look I dont feel like a second class citizen, because someone popular wont comment on my blogs, I blog for myself...
And dude I did comment on your first blog, and you were scary then...
I even mentioned about you in a blog about info blurb by "yeahbutnobut"...cause your blurb was damn cool...
    ;)

A list...B list...first class/second class...I don't look at it that way. I think it is active and inactive. As people have explained to others this site seems to be about interaction. I usually scroll through and comment on posts that interest me. Then if I see one by someone with whom I have formed a relationship, I stop and read. I also read a lot of posts on which I do not comment.

I read all of your previous posts but did not comment...you scared the hell out of me. What was up with that?
  • secretlife said on Aug 27, 2006....
I think you have to be patient and do alot of reading and commenting on other blogs before people will actually read yours. Some of my best stuff I posted before anyone was reading me.

And you never know what is going to be popular. I've seen more than one person say that what you work the hardest on might get the fewest views...

Also, I read alot of posts, and don't comment. This is especially true on the Religion and Politics front.
  • Danj3ris said on Aug 27, 2006....
With any blog, there will be a number of posters who for some reason attract alot of readers. It just happens that way.

When I first started I had very few readers, and very few comments. By posting about different topics I saw what kind of stories attracted what kind of readers. Turns out my most viewed post was a post I particularly don't like. It was about Google and privacy.

I post an original Haiku everyday, partly to stay active when I can't think of anything to blog, and partly to exercise my mind. Those posts do not get many views. But I enjoy doing them, so I will continue.

In terms of Adsense? I've made a bit, but nothing worth my doing backflips of joy over. It's just the way it is, and it really isn't bad. I'm comfortable, and I accept it.

My advice? Keep blogging. Regardless of your audience, it's good to get thoughts out on some medium.

Jenna, sorry for coming into this community too rude. I vowed to be a better person, and I think I've been since then.

I'm getting to know more about SC because of all your comments. Thank you!

There are a lot of weenies in SoulCast. Like me. I just try
to have some fun with all this. People can read or not.
That is their choice, and gain, or loss. I write something
that I just know will ignite a lot of interest. Nada. I ask
"where are you from" and get a gillion views and
comments. It is just a matter of the mood of the day.
I think today's mood is sex from what I have been
reading. Guess I better go write a post about sex.
    Good night.
  • labyrinth said on Aug 28, 2006....
Yes, SC has a really moody audience. But I will continue to blog about anything that comes to mind. I will not care less if people will read it or not.

you know, if somebody catches my eye on a given day, I'll go back to their previous posts and read through some of them. It translates into being a long night sometimes.

It's been my experience as well that most of the blogs I actually put time into get rarely looked at, while my silly posts get commented on like crazy.

Just goes to show you that you never can tell with people. We're all so different, you know?

One thing I DID notice about SoulCasters is that you get exactly what you put into it. If you're real with them, they'll be real right back. If you're rude, well.....

Sorry I never gave you a proper welcome to SoulCast. I mistook you for a troll. Now it seems that you are not.

    Please accept my apologies.

    Grape.

Stupid edit feature.... It don't work.

Oh and Danj3ris, I do read and enjoy your haikus.
  • labyrinth said on Aug 28, 2006....
Apologies accepted Grape. Thank you also for visiting my page. I noted that you also commented on my next blog entitled "SOULCAST IS UNFAIR!"

Look at this now, with 56 views and 12 comments, this post still has not moved an inch! It's still buried in page 4. This is ridiculous!
  • Weird_World said on Aug 28, 2006....
Thats cause where your page happens to be put, depends on how popular your are, how many people read you, and then on the views and comments...
I rarely make it there as well, so I dont check it out...
Seriously it is a wasteage of time checking out featured blogs...
    ;)
    So dont get discouraged...

I don't necessarily agree with the system that SoulCast has in place concerning featured posts. You are right--popular members do seem to be granted a larger piece of the SoulCast pie.

I can only go with the flow.

I read a lot more blogs than I comment on--and today, the gateway was bad for most of the time that I had designated for blogging.

Weird World: I believe there has been a time or two that we have chatted, no?
  • Weird_World said on Aug 29, 2006....
    Hey Jade
yeah we have chatted, but I have been in soulcast long before I messaged on your blog...
so if you want to be seen, you have to make yourself visible...
I guess that is the deal...

    GUYS:

There's no such thing as classification along the members of SoulCast. Even me, though I've just started a few days ago, not much comments on my posts, a few views, and yet I'm enjoying my stay here.

Posts are not particularly there for the others to comment or to read. But to have some place for us to write on. Comments and views are freebies. Though it feels great when someone views your posts specially when someone commented.

No minor nor major groups here. Let's say we are in a meeting discussing what our plans for the next month. How can we know you if you don't even speak and comment in the meeting?

Well as a member of SoulCast, it's a great experience here.
