   I do care, however, about truth and the search for knowledge.
   
   I have no doubt that you fully believe in what you say, yet you are not able to have a conversation about it which tells me that you are just "parroting" what you hear from others; preachers and such.
   
  I have studied many religions, but most of my beliefs can be found in the bible. .
  And the Jesus in the Bible teaches love and acceptance, etc......
  I'm not sure however, about where you found yours at...
   
  Telling me that I am going to Hell really doesn't bother me... I'm already there, we are in Hell.
   
   God could do nothing worse to me than placing me here. There are no eternal hellfires, nor will I moan for eternity... Atleast that is not my belief... I think we all have a right to believe in what is right for us, even you... I don't agree with attacking another's religious beliefs unless they first attack mine... Furthermore it tells you just that in the Bible! :)  I will work on composing a list of passages for you showing all the things that I am saying..
   
   For now how about some actual conversation from you?? Try talking about things without sprouting damnation and bible verses. Or is that all there is to you?

  I have lost my zeal.  I just can't be bothered with people who are silly enough to believe all that waffle in the bible.  They were told it is a sacred book of truth and like mindless robots simply accept it because the think they won't go to heaven if they don't.  This for me is ridiculously unintelligent and weak-minded.  If we had never questioned anything in our existence we would not have achieved many of the technologies we all (including most religious folk) enjoy.  We would not have cars or TVs or anything.  No medicine, no communications, no modern conveniences what-so-ever.  All these things required us to put god aside and look into the nature of things rather than just accept them.  The pope uses modern technology.... he knows there is more than heaven and earth.  It was not always so of course.  Galileo was only recently forgiven for being a heretic.
  The church knows it can't get away with that kind of crap anymore so they dare not try.  But they will hang on to as much fluff and nonsense for as long as possible as long as there is still power and money in it.
  
  If we all said to the old nazi bastard we no longer believe, they'd all be out of a job.  The money would dry up and they'd have to find other outlets for their weirdness and indiscretions.  I am sick for the time being fighting these idiots who push this crap and those who lap it up.  They can all go fuck themselves.

  Whatever Jesus said can be replaced with what Buddha taught.  That way we both take care of our own spirituality and we look after our ethical needs.  It is a far more appropriate philosophy for our time.  We don't need all the bagage the bible drags out of prehistory to use as examples.  They are a little dated I think.  Furthermore Buddhism allows you to worship whatever god you want.  Buddhism itself does not have a godhead.  One concentrates on self-improvement and enlightenment and is not bent on judging others nor preaching to them. 
  
  Generally it is far better for you in every way.  Christian relgions turns people into ugly evil monsters who want to control the minds and soul of your kiddies and threaten them with eternal torture if they do not comply.  They seek to assimilate you - like the Borg from Star Trek; turning you into soldiers for Jesus to fight Satan (a mythical being).  What kind of rubbish are we shoving down our kids throats with that?  My god people....  get a brain. 
  
  Buddha was a mortal human - not some magic spook who was born from a virgin (give me a break) and he dies.... he does not come back or promise to come back a second time.  No stupid predictions that don't ever come true.  No bullshit.  It is sensible and non-violent and if practiced tends to make people more peaceful and gentle. 
  
  The bonus is you can do it at home and there is no pope or priest or self-styled dictator telling you how to run your life and sit in judgement on everything you do and say - and think. 
  The world has enough lunatic leaders without us having to tolerate religious leaders.  What qualififies them anyway?  Old outdated scriptures that are full of hate and anger?  Piss off!!!!  
  We need to be good people who do good things and learn to find enlightenment. All else follows naturally - no gods, no popes, no nothin'.
  
  We need to replace religion with ethics in schools and teach children to be decent people.  Not holier than thou judges of others.

  I don't agree with the way that Christianity teaches you to believe. I don't agree with any organized religion.
   
  We do need to teach our children a different way because the future isn't looking real bright at the moment! Children are entirely left to raise themselves alot of times. Parents who are too busy on phones and computers or fighting, drinking, that they have no idea what is going on with their children. College students who can barely read and who couldn't write a structured paper if it saved their life.The shape of the future looks dim indeed!
   
  You are exactly right we do need to be good people and do good things, that is all that counts in the end. I know very few truly wonderful people, the kind that you know you could trust with your life. None of them are religious people. The only religious people I know have done nothing but hurt and take advantage of me in one way or another. Goodness speaks for itself.
