I don't know if you're being serious or not ... but that's happened to us a crap load of times.  Do you know, I laugh every time I see the tiny baby guppies swimming IN the filter.  Poor little guys.  Hope you're all right though, maybe get a different filter if you're gonna continue to have fish?

I had a minature water snail called Linford.  Weird how attached I became to him over the 7 years I had him.  I watched him grow from being so small I couldn't tell him from the little pebbles to being nearly an inch in diameter!

Found him dead one day though.  I still have him in a little box in my drawer at work.  I took him there to bury him in the soft grounds but i kind of never got round to doing it lol!

    Poor fishy wishy

I have snails, but they're kind of fish food. They're just pond snails.

sorry about your snail pusscat. That's pretty cool that he lived 7 years though. I never knew a snail could live that long.

In the very limited experience of our household, I advise never get attached to a fish. They very often have short live spans. On the other hand, my mother-in-law had a goldfish that lived for many years.

If my new fish dies, I'm going to jump off the roof of my building.
  • pusscat said on Feb 12, 2009....
I do hope your building is only 7 foot high big!!  Just getting used to having you around :-)  Linford originally came with 2 of the teeny weenyiest little fish I ever saw - I called them Rogue 'n' Josh tee hee.  They unfortunately died at the hands of my step-daughter who I believe forgot to feed them when we were away but I was amazed myself that Linford lived 7 years bless him.

    sorry bout your fish.

Fish are nice to come home to. you only have to feed them a couple times a day. They are eager to see you. they're pretty to look at and when they die it isn't a life changing experience. Thanx for the the sympathies guys. It's still nice to have condolences even when it is your fish that kicked the bucket.

Sorry to hear about your fish... I have never had any, I have always had dogs. I had one dog for 14 years before she died and it was hard for a couple of days after she died because I had her for so long and she is still to this day the best dog I ever had. So my condolences to you.

When I catch a trout, I always smack the back of their heads real hard on a rock so they don't suffer.

Some guys just thrown them on the bank and let them plead and cry for an hour or more.

When it gets really cold and you pull a fish up through an ice hole, they will flip once and be too frozen to flip back, I don't smack em then cause I am sure they feel nothing when they freeze solid in a few seconds.

Sorry to hear about Shepherd, I doubt he pleaded or cried much with his brains sucked out.

Thanks mobil. I used to make my sister cry because I would use a big stick as a stringer for my trout and they would all be flopping around on it trying to breath. She thought that was the most awful thing but I would never kill any of my fish until I cleaned them.
