I finally got my blood pressure under control...woo hoo!  132/72 at the dr's office this morning.  Thank you Eli Lilly and whoever makes HTC.   After months and months of 160 or 180 over 80-90 I am a very happy camper.  I still miss eating pretzels, though.  Oh, well...living is better than pretzels.

I'm sick to death of this economic recovery crap.  I really should stop watching the news but I'm addicted to it.
I still don't see how creating atv trails is going to help the economy, but what do I know?
I want to hear real answers to real questions, you know?  I'm tired of hearing "We inherited this debt".  Shut up already,  we know that!  Stop beating the dead horse.....move on, for God's sake.

I don't like Nancy Pelosi at all.  The woman has a bigger ego than Rush Limbaugh has.  Oh, don't look at me like that..... I'm not a Republican, I'm a Libertarian.  I really don't give a shit what you do, just don't pick my pocket to do it.
You know why politicians and celebrities get along so well?  They all have big egos and do whatever it takes to maintain their status and position.

I heard there are 44 registered sex offenders living within 15 miles of the home the little girl in Florida disappeared from.  I also saw the father crying during a news conference, really sobbing, but there were no tears.  I thought that was strange.  Remember Susan Smith?  She was the mother who claimed her car was hijacked, with her two little boys inside.  She issued a plea for their return on tv, crying her eyes out.  I said to my husband, "No tears.  She's not crying tears."  If my kid was missing I'd be crying so hard I wouldn't be able to speak!  Nose running, blubbering, gasping...the whole bit.   Not her.  She had makeup on, her hair was fixed with a pretty scrunchie on her ponytail....weird.   Turned out she drowned her kids.

It's 72 degrees today.  Nice to be able to open all the windows after weeks of 20-40 degrees.

I can't believe all the flyers who still whine about TSA taking their toothpaste or shampoo away.  They stomp into the gift shop asking for 3 oz containers to put their $80 shampoo in ( $80?? Jeez...how dirty is your hair?)  Then they bitch at the $3 charge for 3 containers.  "But don't you feel safer now that precautions are being taken?"  "No! It's stupid! What's anyone going to do with shampoo?!"   Well, I'd tell them but they're probably too stupid to get it, so why waste my time?

Have you seen that pajama commercial?  Did you notice the way the one guy leers at the girl modeling the pajamas for him?  If I were a young woman and he was my boyfriend or
husband, I'd say, "Dude, stop it, you're creeping me out!"

Brett Favre's retiring. Again.

Do we all feel sorry for the Wells Fargo employees who won't get to take a free vacation this year?  Life's a bitch, huh?  I can barely afford to go to Jersey for 5 days.  According to the full page ad in USA Today taken out by their CEO, these poor people will never know now how appreciated they are.  They have jobs, they get paychecks....sucks to be them, really.

Yummy...tuna fish.  I put chopped red bell pepper and sweet pickle relish in it.  Wow....it's good!

That's all.   Told you I was boring.

I've meet Nancy Pelosi.  I worked on her home in Cali.  I don't like her either, though her husband is very nice.

Hey Uni, so it's not just me?  It's just something about her face...a look of disdain, you know?  Some people can't hide the way they feel...it shows on their faces, and she looks to me as though she feels she deserves to be where she is, that she'd do whatever it takes to stay there.  It's frightening to think that if something were to happen to Obama and Biden she'd be President of our country.
  • uniquely-ironic said on Feb 11, 2009....
I'm not going to detract from her sacrifices to get where she's at, but I do think that she should be giving others more credit.  Without their support she would still be climbing that ladder.

I like the way you talk, very much, Twirlie.  I'm addicted to the news channels too.  Oh, except for Law and Order which is on now.

Trying to keep my mind off the weather.  Whoever heard of a tornado watch in stupid February?

Well that's what you get for living in one of those land locked states!!
  • kruuyai said on Feb 11, 2009....
That certainly was a melange... and oddly interesting.  I'm glad you're still here, Twirliegirl.  :)
  • pickersplock said on Feb 11, 2009....
I'm with you all the way, Twirly!
    Even with the tuna fish.
Sometimes, if I don't have any relish, I'll chop up some bread and butter pickles!
  • Lucytorial said on Feb 11, 2009....
you know that is weird.... him crying with no tears.... yuk!

You know those boys who killed that little boy in England years ago? well they're sending them to Australia with free identities to live here... no more jail for them... thats just plain fucked.. take a life and here we'll give you a new one, incognito for free! noo we'll pay for everything.

i am glad to hear you have your bp lined out. it drains a person when the body works so hard. and yup, salt is a no no. take care of yourself. hey.... i think you are a great, delightful soul. Nothing is boring about you. stop that! *smile* ~see ya

hey twyla!!! your mind is goin' a million miles a minute today huh? lol! i love what you said about the shampoo...people kill me.  sometimes i hate them.
  • Hegemone said on Feb 11, 2009....
Twy, that was anything but boring.  WOO HOO on the blood pressure being under control!  I take HCTZ also and then Lisinopril for mine.  It works wonders!  So far as the news and the economy crap ... while I want to know what's going on ... I'm sick of hearing the excuses and all the beating around the bush too.  It makes a person feel helpless.  *nods head* Yup, celebrities, politicians ... one in the same ... their reputation has a lot to do with their self worth and also their value to the people, sadly enough, more than it should.  I couldn't imagine not being able to cry actual tears if something that monumentally devastating happened.  I wouldn't be able to function, let alone make sure my hair was all pretty and perfect.  Wish I could open the windows ... we've got 'em all plasticked over to keep the cold out ... only problem, keeps the fresh, warm air out too!  Sounds like you've had plenty on your mind ... feel better now that it's out?
  • Twylarants said on Feb 11, 2009....
Fraggles....you crack me up! I hear ya, I mostly like people but sometimes I hate them.
MeMy....I couldn't figure out why I was having so much trouble walking up the stupid hill to the airport terminal.  I had to stop 2 or 3 times to catch my breath and it's only 1/8 of a mile!  I didn't know it was because of my pressure.  What a difference since my pressure is down.... I can walk and talk all the way up the hill now.
Lulu....I remember reading about that murder.  It made me sick.  How about the teenage girls who killed the one girl's mother years ago?  They got new identities and the one who planned the murder is now a NY Times best selling mystery author.  How's that for irony?
PopcornSpots....You know what's funny?  I hate pickles!  Can't even stand the smell of them, but I love relish in my tuna.  Ok, it's not really funny....strange, maybe.
Kru....Hey, thank you my darling, I'm glad you're here, too!  I'm glad we're all here!
MissMimimimi....I miss Jerry Orbach on L&O.  I loved his NooYawk accent...he sounded just like me.  Yeah, they say we don't have to really worry about the tornado warnings because we're so close to the ocean (3 miles), but it still scares me to death when I hear that beeping noise on the tv and see the red scroll across the top of the screen.  They've touched down all around us in rural areas but never here in town.
Uni....But, to her credit, Pelosi did manage to work an earmark into this bill that will benefit her district.  I imagine everyone who got an iou from the IRS will be thrilled to know that $30 million is going to save the salt water mouse.  Go Nancy!!

I like tuna fish with mayo and chopped up dill pickles on toast.

I cry more in a week now than I did the first fifty years of my life. Tears yes, sometimes that all, just tears.

Never use shampoo, Ivory soap for everything.

Sex offenders should have one chance, the one that gave them the title sex offender. I don't want to do it, but someone should kill them, I'd say torture them too, but bloc would have a fit.

    I'm not a Republican either, I'm a Conservative.

Stock up on grub, lots of it, this bailout scares the poo out of me.

Great post Twilleth, well good post anyway.

Hi Heggie....Hah! If I ever tried to get everything in my head out in print I'd need my own website!  I take 20 mgs Ramipril and 25 mgs HTC each morning.  My old doctor told me to take them at night, but the new dr said your pressure goes up in the morning so why would you take it at night?  Duh.  As soon as I started taking my pills in the morning my pressure began to come down.
  • Twylarants said on Feb 11, 2009....
Sir Mobil....Thanks!  I kinda thought it was one of my gooder posts, myself...lol!
I'm with you on the torture though I couldn't hurt anyone except in self defense, then I could easily kill someone with no regrets...no problem.
I think of myself as a conservative Libertarian, but the Libertarian party runs such whackos for office that I've never voted Libertarian.
I'd have more respect for someone who said, " I'm only in it for the government pension, the face-time, the power, and the parking space, but as long as I'm there I'll do everything I can to help you."  At least I'd know he was honest, you know?
    See-eth ya!

  • mobil said on Feb 11, 2009....
We need a solid third party in this country Twilleth, if you run I'll cheer you on and send your campain money, as long as you fess up to the parking space thing.
    Thanketh You.

I loved your ramble here Twyla. It was rather like having you over for a cup of tea and a talk. Charming. And...what wonderful news about your blood pressure. I know it really feels like a victory when the numbers come down. Keep up the good work. Pretzels really aren't THAT good.
  • gingersoul said on Feb 11, 2009....
Twylla.......lol.....you must have watched the new tv show "Lie to me".......Its all about this police-psychologist-agent who unveils horrible murders simply talking with the suspects.
He can read their facial and body expressions and can see when they lie. In the last episode he actually brought the example of this Susan you talk about....
    Fascinating science.....human expressions....

Did you know the My Space last week had deleted 67.000 profiles because they were sex offenders?
I mean, 67.000.....its the size of a town...

Its the size of the audience of a "normal" Sunday mass at the Fellowship Church of Joey Olsen....where he and his beautiful (stuck up) blonde wife preach to the simple ones......to give them money!
Televangelical are like politicians and actors....same inflated egos......

    Btw.....i like Libertarians too..:-)
  • Twylarants said on Feb 11, 2009....
Ginger....A liar's face will give him or her away every time, unless they're Ted Bundy.  I remember thinking how strange Susan Smith looked, all made-up, every hair in place.  And she removed her glasses before she began speaking.  I wondered if she did that so her vision would be blurry and she wouldn't be able to see the faces in the crowd.  It's much easier to lie to someone's face if you can't see that face.

I've seen books by that couple, the Olsteens or something.  Don't you wonder what people like that talk about at home?  I wonder if they sit around in their big mansions, drinking beer, eating hot wings, and laughing about the gullible people who make it all possible.  Smooth talkers, the whole bunch of them.
You know who would be a good televangelist?  Mobil.  Can't you just picture that? LOL!

Woman....Thank you for the tea, it was lovely.  We should really do this more often.
The blood pressure is such a load off my mind.  I was driving it up just by worrying about it.
I love those pretzel chips (not sure of the name).  They're shaped like Toll House crackers, with cheeder cheese on one side.  So good!  So bad!
  • GrapeKoolaid said on Feb 11, 2009....
I think mobil's on to something here.

    Twyla for congress!!!

    Or an alderwoman perhaps?

It's a start, innit?  Then you can climb your way to the top of the heap!  :)

    I'd vote fer ya.  Honest.

    Delightful post, lady.

Twillie....do you know that the wife of beau Joel has been charged of physically assaulting a flight attendant last summer?

The attendant said she asked her to stop doing something (cant remember what) and the stuck up pious Barbie told her to mind her own business and shoved her away. The attendant sued her. Holy Joel run on tv (they own a channel, btw) to defend wifey and talking about God forgiviness and blah like this.

People was shocked but i say.....with how many layers of butter can one cover an onion? The real you will always come out soon or later...

Hey, i agree with you.....our Mobil would be a great politician too.... i can easily see him with his ruggy look and his muddy jeep visiting farms after farms all over the country.......defending the right of gun possession and gazelle chocking.....lol....
  • gingersoul said on Feb 11, 2009....
Hey, you.... Grapey......what are you doing here?....lol...
  • Hegemone said on Feb 11, 2009....
Yup, I take mine in the mornin' too ... 10mg Lisinopril, 25mg HCTZ.  Does wonders for me ... and I can definitely tell the difference when I stupidly forget every once in a while.  Makes a world of difference.

    HAHAHAH I LOVE IT

As for t economic thing, I totally agree apparently the mayor if pittsburgh wants to build a new sports complex in an area that already has one, just because another city is doing good with...so what, that doesn't mean Pittsburgh wouldya know.  They need to give us poor folk some help instead of letting us lose our homes, they need to do something to help us keep them! maybe I am bias to it since my family is in danger of losing our home, but still....

    You guys are too funny!!
If they ever create a political position of Empress, I'm there.  I'll be stumping my little heart out!

623,000 people filed new claims for unemployment.  New claims!  If I were a senator or congressperson I'd have to have a box of PlaySkool hammers so I could bonk all the politicians in the head....."Excuse me, my esteemed colleague, but shut up now, you're talkin' stupid!  Whaddaya mean you don't see pork in this plan?? Did you read it?  At all?  Where are the tax incentives for businesses to bring jobs back from overseas?  Where are the payroll tax cuts for workers?  What about all the white collar workers who lost their jobs?  How many 50 and 60 year olds are going to apply for jobs building roads or sodding the grounds of the Jefferson Memorial?  What are these college kids gonna do with their degrees? Where are the jobs gonna come from for all the service men and women you're bring home?  And, by the way, why aren't they paid more?
C'mere, Senator Chuck Schumer....lemme slap this 'I'm an Idiot' sticker on your forehead.  There ya go. Now you won't even have to open your stupid mouth for everyone to know just exactly what you think of your fellow Americans."

Yeah, how long before they escort me out of Washington?
