The page you were looking for no longer exists

i've long wanted to post this piece.
i've tried to blog about it in the past.
but always, each time, my mental hand stopped my writing hand.

i always found it difficult, even painful, almost shameful, to express ...
the thoughts and feelings that are tightly coiled and roiling around inside my brain.
but now i have to say them, once and for all.
there is no more reason to postpone the inevitable.
i need to post this now, and to hell with the goddam fuckin torpedoes that may come my way.

i hope i don't incur heaven's wrath or hell's fire and brimstone for saying this...

allow me to breathe deeply for a minute before i start.

(the clock quietly ticks its 60 merciful seconds...)

here it is:

what was it i was about to say?
damn, i just suffered another mental block.
lemme see...

1. that tonight until tomorrow before dawn is a full moon?

2. that for a few moments, the earth will align with the sun and moon and produce a partial eclipse?

3. that one werewolf, in deep slumber at a small hut built just beside a cave complex near the forest's edge, somewhere in east asia, has begun to sense the approaching full moon with a lust for meat growing and growling in his innards?

4. and that he is just waiting for a signal -- a certain voice maybe, a trill of laughter, i dunno -- for him to finally wake up and powerfully flex again all his tensile muscles and appendages?

5. and provide the impetus to check his facebook for fresh, unsuspecting, innocent, guileless people to victimize?
(just unveiled my secret #1, actually: i've been on facebook since last year... :-)

6. or maybe, just maybe, this is just my way of escaping monday morning blahs at work, fighting an uphill struggle against impossible deadlines?

what was it i was about to say?
something about unveiling a secret.
damn this mental block...

help me, people.
help!

LOL.

hey, secret my friend, *that* might just be it...
    the lust-in-the-innards thing.
i will need to investigate the rate of change in my metabolic processes, though.

hormonal reconfig parameters still running ok at the moment...
hair growth a bit prolific but still under control.
    should i go for it?
i mean, maybe a visit to to my favorite barber shop later this afternoon.
this has got to be an interesting monday after all! lol

    hi memy.
    you really think so?
will i feel better if i wake up the werewolf from his deep slumber, and allow him to roam the night afresh and howl at the moon again?
    but where's the signal?
i'm waiting for a signal. lol.
here, lemme help you finish that carrot cake. ((munch munch...))
g'nite to you too, dear friend.

  • moonriver said on Feb 08, 2009....
    hiya queeeeeenieeeee, muah!
oh i know your pancit luglug. rich sauce, shrimps, ground pork rind, salted eggs, rich everything (including bad cholesterols and hi carbs, but who cares? lol)
we have an equivalent noodle-based dish that goes by another name but is just as delicious.
it's my all-time favorite since childhood.
i would cry inconsolably if my mama forgot to bring me home a hefty serving of this dish, wrapped in banana leaves.
    (that's unveiled secret #2.)
and halo-halo for dessert... native or foreign visitor, who could ever resist that?
and you ask me if i want a share?
hmm. maybe that's the signal i've been waiting for. lol.

    hi cw.
    gotcha, didn't i?
you did right in checking your supply of silver bullets, my friend.
you might need lots of it soon.
    coors light doesn't work, unfortunately.
try spanish gate red wine dry, 11,5% vol. lol.
consuming a bottle of it makes me forget a career in werewolfism, i just wanna grab a 5-string gitarra española y canta mi serenata a una senorita rubia, hoy!
    yup, facebook. like you.

    hi infernal.
your curiosity serves you well, my friend.
so many signal blips flying about, but you have a sharp radar-screen eye.
i was hoping you'd tell me what i'm supposed to be waiting for.
maybe when the egg hatches? :-)

Moon I don't have a clue as to how old you are but when I have something important to say and I forget, I call it a "senior moment", so I try really hard never to have anything important to say.  That way I will never forget what was so important in the first place. This is the real secret behind my posts.
  • moonriver said on Feb 09, 2009....
    hi msstar.
when you and destiny asked for it, i seriously mulled my options for a few days.
    really.
now all the hormonal reconfig dials are turning wildly,
and i'm on the verge of letting it out.
    dont tempt me with guavas.
or other luscious morsels for that matter.
you don't realize what you're getting into...
    signals all around.

i'll get to you yet, i will.

    hi c-man.
i started playing the youtube clip, then it sort of locked midway.
i think it's my internet connection that's the problem.
but yeah, it's the rousing, stomping, howlin' wolfman blues all right.
i'll play it later tonight under the full moon.
perhaps i';; join in with a full-throated howl.
wha...? carrot cake? what carrot cake? ((plays innocent))
hey dude, i know you can play some bad-ass axe.
maybe posting more blues on your blog will tip me over completely into werewolfism... :-)
    thanks, friend.

    love phoeby.
  • moonriver said on Feb 09, 2009....
    hi mom.
clues about my age are all over the place.
"asian fire monkey" being the most obvious.
i refuse to admit falling into "senior moments," and i absolutely object to any insinuation along those lines, hahaha.
but i get your point, funny lady. i'll take note of that trick once i can no longer stop the inevitable... :-)

  • phoeby said on Feb 09, 2009....
ahhh, i know how old he is, but im not telling. he's older than me and younger than um..... whatsisname... mick jagger.

  • moonriver said on Feb 09, 2009....
    hi again phoeby.
    sophie is my wife.
it isn't her first name, but it's a real part of her name.
i've been blogging about her since my first few months at sc.
if you're interested in some background stories about her, here are some of my blogs that mostly revolve around her:

    1. Sophie's back, finally. This is set in real life, although with a dreamy veneer. The only inaccuracy I put into the story is about the twin girls. One of my favorite blogs.
    2. Life with indigenous pigs. A very funny story in a pastoral setting. Another favorite.
    3. Bathing in hot springs and waterfalls, with love (2). A nice sequel to #2.
    4. Night chat with Sophie. Many readers didn't like this. I didn't like it either. But it had to be written down.
    5. Sophie wears Prada. Another funny vignette. For this post, I made a cute avatar in her likeness.
    6. Blame it on the pink shirt. Some find this blog funny. I didn't. But it's one of my favorites too.
    7. Missing Sophie. A sad video vignette, which I made when I was really down.
    8. Sophie's chimes. A sentimental journey. More sweet than bitter, I'd like to believe.
    9. Genetically-modified orgasms in my mind. I consider this as a sequel to #5, one of my top favorites.

of course i'm younger than mick jagger by more than 10 years.
although in my 20s i could do a fairly decent impersonation of his british rocker's voice, sneer and swagger, all the way to the skin-tight pants and mic-twirling antics.
nowadays i'd be shamefaced to even try, hahaha.

  • moonriver said on Feb 09, 2009....

    what were you saying?

((snout, canines, claws and hair fast growing...))

    Oh, moonie!

I don´t know what it is lately... lol ...I am calling it soulsynchronising....

...it always saddens me when I check on bloggers and all blogs are deleted...so many archives in SC have been lost, never to be retrieved again....so many beautiful, insightful, heartwrenching, fun, adventurous threads....

...when I read your comment to diabolicdame that you are slowly pulling out your blogs (...you commented this to Super Z as well....perhaps I assumed wrongly and it will "only" be your poetry) it almost broke my heart......I once removed all my blogs but they were not of literary value, and well regardless (lol) I will be putting them back as soon as my offline life has regained it´s balance...

I would not feel right to copy your post to save them for later reading... so I told myself this week I would love to spend a day in your mind ...lol and blog simultaneously about it...would you have liked the title : a day in the the mind of moonie ...

...it is not only about you but yeah...preserving archives, preserving wonderful interactions of how the human spirit struggles to overcome and how we find solace in each other... (I am not articulating this as I want it to ...but what the heck...lol....my motto in 2009 is about just doing it without much dillydallying......yup, i sentenced my inner editor for a year!)...

....well, I am ever so grateful with your links above!!! it makes reading for me structured now, and saves me from diving in your mind, thoughts without a map ! lol

    hi everyone!
ah, such an exhilarating werewolf night it was!
the howlin' and the rippin' clothes and the bitin' and the munchin'...
    awwooooooorrrllllhh ngggggrrrhhhh.
    ok, enough of that.
    i'm sober again.

    hi paper.
i'm glad you think so highly of my blogs.
i noticed your trademark <3 comments on some of my earlier blogs.
don't worry, only a small selection of my sc poems will be pulled out. i'll post an early notice to give you (and other readers) time enough to read them, and save them to offline files if you want to.
the idea is for me to publish them under my real name and to be dissociated with the "moonriver" name.
thrilled i am indeed if you write about "a day in the mind..." :-)

    hi cw.
    a nice combination indeed, friend.
    lol @ animal husbandry skills.
you can practice on taming a wild werewolf during the next full moon.
but you'll have to catch him first with a silk lasso... :-)

    hi ddame.
now that the werewolf has tasted red meat again...
there is no escaping him. growwwllll.
you can run but you can't hide... even with a generic facebook profile. lol.
now i wonder... how could you have known the werewolf's return? ((wink))

  • moonriver said on Feb 10, 2009....
    hi hegemone.
that's understandable, since i've been writing about this peculiar werewolf almost since day 1 here at sc.
here are some of my favorite werewolf blogs:

    1. Internet dog or God, who knows? This is the very first blog where I introduced the werewolf persona.

    2. Then in early December 2007, the werewolf rapidly evolved, from aargghhh! can't take anymore! to mr. werewolf, phone call from your twins (one of my favorite episodes) to self-discovery in the deepest dark.

    3. Fragments of hell is an account of a real-life experience, except that in the end I gave it a bit of a fantasy twist that provides a key link to understanding the werewolf psyche. Fragments of returning reality is a semi-poetic but more true-to-life rendition of the same incident, sort of like a sequel that leads back to reality.

    4. To whom it may concern (early version) later led to a more full-blown To whom it may again concern in the summer of 2007. This is easily one of my favorite werewolf episodes, because it gave the creature a less horrifying and more entertaining personality. I think the readers were drawn into the blog's black humor.

    5. LadyGamer's guide to forest survival. Another nice episode. Makes me recall LadyGamer... ((sniff))... miss her. This is where I got the idea for the next episode of the guava-munching werewolf.

    6. Terrible werewolf secret revealed. I think most will agree (as I do) that this is by far the best werewolf episode. I didn't think much about how to write it. Everything just came flowing in -- actual events, real-life pics (except the growing hairs...lol). As the cliche goes, the blog practically wrote itself.

    7. Then something horrible happened, and the werewolf said goodbye in What's worse than a dead werewolf? A wewo!

    thanks for the comment, hegemone.
i'll ask the werewolf if he got enough signals, and convince him to keep a civilized presence here at sc during full moons... just make sure he has enough supply of dental floss.

  • moonriver said on Feb 10, 2009....
    hi quietone.
    saying howdy to you too.
it was a quickie werewolf night.
fast and wild and eminently satisfying. ((wink))
back to my civilized ways, lady, don't worry.

    hi missmimi.
still chuckling at sophie's pork predicament, are you?
but what i remember best (also with a chuckle) was your comment about "urine-soaked fur."
now that's one naughty naughty comment. lol.

    hi fragglesrock.
judging by your blogs, pretty lady, i don't think the werewolf can ever intimidate you.
but just to be on the safe side...
during full moons, make sure all your doors and windows are locked. :-)

  • moonriver said on Feb 10, 2009....

next full moon is march 10, 10:38pm est.
