Two of my favorite shows are back on.  If you thought that the two shows on my title are what I'm talking about, then...you're wrong!

okay, actually you're right...just wanted to pysch you all out for a minute...

Anyways, yes, I am a huge American Idol and an even bigger "24" fan.  Mondays are the new Fridays.   I actually look forward to Mondays now because "24" comes on Mondays at 8pm EST.  Jack Bauer is, quite simply....THE MAN.  When I grow up, I want to be like Jack.  For those who have lived in a cave for the past 8 years, Jack Bauer is a super-agent who works for a secret anti-terrorist government agency called CTU (Counter Terrorist Unit).  Jack doesn't give a crap about the whole "no cruel and unjust punishment" clause in the Constitution.  No, he laughs at that.  Not for violence's sake, but for the sake of National Security.  If you are a terrorist, or you are aiding and abetting one......and Jack has gotten his hands on you....AND you are not willing to give any vital information that will help Bauer save hundreds, or thousands, or millions of lives....MAY GOD HAVE PITY ON YOU!!! .  For there are no bones in your body he won't break, no muscle that he won't tear, no carotid artery he won't physically rip out from the very inside of your neck with his bare hands, until you provide him key information that will help him once again save the United States from another major attack.  In other words, he will do whatEVER it takes to help protect and defend the country he is willing to die for on a daily basis (as long as FOX networks renews and keeps up-ing his current multi-million dollar contract and keep bringing back "24" for another season).  But that's petty details....Bauer has a nation to save, dammit!

However, the government has done away with CTU due to unconsitution methods that they support in order to bring down terrorists.  Bauer has been on government trial due to his "cruel and unusual" methods of gaining sensitive information from terrorists' goons.  Instead, the Feds would like Jack to apologize to the terrorists for the inconvenience while he arrests them and patiently wait for them to talk over a cup of coffee in hopes that they will tattle-tale.  Okay, not exactly...but you get the idea.

Jack Bauer realizes he doesn't have time for this bullshit and is still willing to go by his own methods to get these bastards to talk....by any. means. necessary.  Jack is Mr. Badass.

Okay, on to my next favorite show...American Idol, which aires Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 8pm EST.  I can't talk much about it due to my extended blog about "24".  But, is it me, or are there more talented singers than EVER before.  These "amateurs" are so damn talented that Simon, Randy, Paula, and the new judge Kara DioGuardi (she's hot:-) are having to turn away some good to decent singers.  Anyways, got somebody to root for this season.  His name is Anoop Desai.  It's the first time a fellow Indian has gotten this far into the show.  So, I have big hopes for my Indian brotha.  Hopefully he makes the final cut and gets onto the final 24....and MAN can that boy SING!  He's got this rich, soulful voice.  Randy calls him Noop Dogg.  Anyways, hope you guys enjoyed my blog.  Come on people...any other "24" and/or American Idol fans??  Let's unite!  lol

Gosh, I'm so retarded..

i'm watching American Idol again this season.
I think this group is very very talented, but i'm not sure i like that new 4th judge.  i can't figure out if she actually adds anything to the show at all.
btw, that indian kid is a really really good singer.  i hope he gets in the final 10 too!

Burnsie, I'm with you on 24, although I am not an avid viewer.  I catch it when I can, and if I don't, I'm honestly not too heartbroken, lol.  It is pretty good when I do get to watch it though, and definitely an adrenaline rush filled with suspense.  So far as American Idol, I've come to realize I only like the first few episodes when they're weeding through all the crappy singers.  Some of those are just hiarious, but then again some of those are heartwrenching when they get a bad review that's a little over the top.  Not bad shows either way.

secret,,,hey there.  Although the new judge is hot, I do agree with you that I do not like her judging style.  Although I couldn't STAND that bikini girl contestant, this judge didn't need to call her "bitch" on 2 seperate occassions.  That displayed that she had no sense of professionalism, along with displaying her own personal bias.  Again, not that I didn't agree with the bikini girl being a bitch, but I would've kept that to myself and just judged stricktly on performance.  But yes, the indian guy is real good...and one other guy that has a great range in his voice...but didn't know his name.  we'll update each other:-)

hege...yeah...24...when you watch that show, you feel like you just drank 10 cans of Red Bull.  That's what that show feels like...the edge of your seat thriller and you're PISSED AS HELL when the show is over cuz you do not wanna wait all the way to next friggin week!!

Burnsie - Yup, but then I'm that way about a few other shows too, when I get to watch them.  I think it's also a lot too because I never know if I will get to watch 'em, lol.

Not an avid watcher but I too love 24. After the special I became hooked on that and Lost. The concepts are a bit fresh and interesting to say the least. As for Idol they have lost their luster to me and it's only a matter of time before they see the cancellation button. I give them a couple of more years b/c they are deviating too much from their original formula and people usually don't like that. That means they know that they are tired or they think the viewing public is tired and they think they need to be innovative to keep the magic going which says to me that they know that they have 1 foot towards the grave. Either way welcome back.
