Who's reading SpiritualMom (8):
Okay so now I'm going to tick some of you off probably.. Its not my intention but its bound to happen so I may as well do it now..The majority of modern religions believe that the Bible is the absolute work of God, that every word in it is God's truth... I personally say that is bull shit!! Think about it before you get mad now, is it true that women have no place in the church? Do you really believe you can NEVER eat pork??

Okay so here is my take on it, the Bible was written by man and man is fallible. I think the Bible can be a good guideline but man had his hand in it and it was corrupted. Think about how many times the Bible has been rewritten, or how many different forms of relegion there are in this world that all use the Bible as their  main tool of teaching, every one of them is fundamentally different, yet they all come from the same book...None of them however follow every word in the Bible as law.. How can this be if they claim to believe the Bible is "God's Divine Word" ?

We all interpret things differently.. If 10 of us read the exact same scripture verse we would all have a different interpretation of it.. Its the way things were meant to be, It even says that in the bible for those of you who are thinking I'm nuts at the moment.. Jesus himself said that he spoke in riddles because we were not meant to have the knowledge of God..

All of our religions today stem from the original teachings, they have just been interpreted differently for each religion..So wtf is everyone's problem with everyone else? There are MAJOR similarities in almost every religion, yet we all act as though our belief is the only one that can possibly be right.. Are we really so stuck up in today's society that we believe that God would really turn his back on like 70 or 80% of his ppl just because he has decided they don't believe in him correctly?? And if this is true then why the hell would we believe in such a narrow minded God anyway??

Every religion has truth to it, no religion is 100% right, its a matter of what you are comfortable with and what you feel is right.. I hate all of the religious persecution in our society, its such a waste of energy.. Why the hell are we fighting over something so petty? Especially considering that most of our modern religions here in the US are based off of Christianity.. Didn't Christ stress love and acceptance in his teachings? Wasn't his main goal to achieve love and harmony among all people? He went out of his way to help the people that everyone else turned away from.. So how the hell did we get religious snobbery out of that??? Any feed back is appreciated :) Love and Light everyone

There are 4 generations of Athiests in my family.

Apparently Christianity is lifted almost exactly from Egyptian faiths and astrological stuff, http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=5547481422995115331&ei=kJ-JSdf7AZHG2gLhm4C3Cw&q=zeitgeist

I have watched Zeitgiest, which is the link above. I think its a little bit far fetched, that something was that blaitently stolen from Eyptian faiths.

I have conducted my own research, and I think its likely that someone was probably born in a stable (at some point, possibly October). His mother was a slut, and had affairs, and lied to her huspand saying her pregnancy was immaculate to avoid retrobution, which apparently was not uncommon at the time.

We all know the nativity story, then not a lot happens in Jesus's life until he's around 30. Modern historians believe that Jesus went on a bit of a gap year, where he walked to India. He hung round in the Middle East for a little while too, which I beleive is where he got into the Qu'ran (where is a Allah's friend, the book actually talks about Allah AND "Christ" judging people as allies). I then think he went over to India and met some Buddhists, Hindus and Shiks which is where the similarities in Middle Eastern/Indian religions come in.

Before Christianity was so widespread, it was not uncommon for a religion to 'merge' with other religions when there was a new faith or idea coming in. That's why Hindus have loads of Gods, and the Romans and Greeks had a few too, didn't they?

Unfortunately, Christianity has the belief 'there only one God, believe in any others and you'll go to Hell and stuff' so when launched in the Pagan west, it had to alter itself to consume Paganism and could not work alongside another religion.

That is why the holy day in Sunday, which was the Pagan day of 'Sun' worship, why we celebrate the birth of Christ in the winter, because there was a Pagan festival there too, and Christmas trees, evergreens, that is Pagan too, because its worship of the summer (not because it was a gift between royals then became tradition.).

Even the Easter bunny and Easter eggs, Pagan symbols of fertility and new life, and doing it in the spring too is pretty obviously Pagan.

Please, if you must read the Bible don't take it literally.

OMG that was AWESOME.. You helped to make the point I was going for here!! The Bible is a BOOK it is not the authoritive measure of Religion.. I am not athiest as I do hold to some beliefs about a higher power but I can understand the feelings of athiests.

The current version of the bible (King James) was written during a time in history when men were trying to establish their dominance over women, thus the references to women being silent in chuch "lest they embarass themselves and their spouses.. It was also trying to remove the "female" essence of God from what were considered "pagan" beliefs.. The beliefs weren't pagan they were just different from what the established "church wanted us to believe.. Thus the references to witches and warlocks as well as not associating with "familiar spirits". These ppl were not wicked they were just different..

When one has a conversation with oneself, but doesn't want the others to know about this widely used deception, one would do well to use spell check

Spelling intelligent wrong is also very embarrassing, (I would think).

I like everything you had to say about religion, I also feel as though religion is a divider of ppl, rather than a uniter

  • seer said on Feb 05, 2009....
Very good anonymous, but just for the record I have learning difficulties so please excuse the odd spelling mistake.
  • SpiritualMom said on Feb 05, 2009....
lol Seer I think I was the one who spelled intelligent wrong, but oh well who gives a shit!

Anonymous, I don't need a teacher.. I already have 4!! Okay so what I spelled a word wrong lol its not that big of a thing and SO not what this is about...

I am glad that you agree with my thoughts on religion however..

You know Spritualmom I use to go to church, I was an usher. The more I got into the Bible, the more questions I asked and the church leaders would run from me, they just believe (blind faith) very few have knowledge of God. The Bible was written, well translated, in a way so that you would have to guess. It was not only translated, but it is someone's version of the original...King James Translated Version. There is no doubt in my mind that the Book has been tampered with. Jesus would not have said that he speaks in riddles, when the Bible says God is not the author of confusion.

Seer, I don't believe the slut part, I have done plenty of research my self but, the info you stated about Christmas and Easter is fact. The pagans were celebrating these events before Jesus was born, but if you dare say it, thats blasphemy....the truth is blasphemy!!  Most people don't want the truth, they want to fit in and get along, they are in love with tradition instead of the truth.

i guess you are a little slow at getting my drift seer and spiritual mom are the same person having a conversation with self. this is a very common ploy to try to get some interest in your blog

both spiritual mom and seer misspelled intellegent. I didn't bring up the misspelling to point out my superiority, I did so to let you know that I know that seer and spiritual mom are the same writer. I find this ploy for attention pathetic and boring...yawn!

ROFLMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO   Okay Anonymous you must be a FUCKING IDIOT if you think that Seer and I are the same person, as that is obviously what you are I will not waste my time talking to you nor will you waste space on my blog with your uselessness!!
  • seer said on Feb 05, 2009....
haha that's quite funny, SpiritualMom is a married mother of five, I'm a 22 year old British biker. And anonymous, why are you anonymous? You haven't said anything to offend us, who are you?
  • seer said on Feb 05, 2009....
Oh and Knowledge1, thanks for the agreement, if you watch Zietgeist, the first part is about religion, which I found quite interesting - it talks about the links between aincient egyptian beliefs, astrological stuff and the relationship with Chritianity.

But I'm not going to explain it in detail, because it would take all day and someone made a movie about it so I don't need to say it.

Its kinda cool, cause we know about the development of Christianity after the supposed life of Christ, but Zietgeist talks about the origins of Christianity before Christ supposedly existed.

I find the whole thing very interesting, but I do hate the enslavement of man to religion, and the bible thumping holier-than-thou attitude, so I got a devil tattoo to show my distaste for religion and its influence on society.

Knowledge1- Yes I know that it says that God is not the author of confusion.. So I guess that means that Jesus is lol because it does talk about the pariables in the gospels and He does say that he talks in pariables to keep some from knowledge...

I fully understand what you mean about the church.. If you ask questions you are viewed as a trouble maker, they want you to follow blindly and silently because if you ask questions that they cant readily answer you might cause someone else to question things too... This would cause a breakdown in the way that the church controls its congregation..

I enjoyed your post and I hope to hear more from you in the future.. Love and Light

I guess lying publicly with anonymous names turns you on

you have to be a little more intelligent to pull it off though, you might want to take lessons from lucy, she's the most effective wizard of oz at soulcast. but she doesn't fob her lies off as spiritual!
  • SpiritualMom said on Feb 09, 2009....
    Andora,

What I am posting are my SPIRITUAL beliefs. I don't expect everyone to agree with me nor do I think they should.. I honestly feel like all of the religious diversity in this world is good, it helps all of us to grow... That being said however, I don't think that we should try to force ppl to do things the way that we do.. I am not telling anyone to do as I do, just trying to get ppl thinking and get some decent feed back..

btw the only name that I post under is this one.. I have no need to try to bring attention to my blog, I do it for me and thats it... If ppl like it and read it then great! If they don't, well thats great too.. Its purely for my own selfish pleasure :)

    Thanks!!

  • seer said on Feb 09, 2009....

Andora, please don't be a pleb. If SpititualMom and I were one person trying to get attention, the best thing to do would be to have a massive flame-war over something like abbortion to get people really angry and involved, not a massive agreeing with one another session!

Plus I think spiritualmom and myself are both interesting enough to get readers without doing that.

But ironically Andora, accusing us of being the same person for attention is getting us attention, so if we were the same person after attention then you have just helped :D

  • SpiritualMom said on Feb 09, 2009....
LMAO Seer!! My thoughts exactly hun oh and btw I did post on your abortion blog this morning! Now thats freaky!! lol  Anyways talk to you soon hun!! :)

spiritualmom, welcome to soulcast!!!!!!  :-)  I agree completly with your post!!
I'm on a bit of a spiritual quest, still feeling very much a lost soul.. it's harder to find the truth than it is to accept what your told, so I guess thats why many just believe.. ??  I look forward to reading more about your beliefs :-) xxxx

  • SpiritualMom said on Feb 13, 2009....
Thank you DestinyDiva!! I'm so glad you like it :)

I totally agree with you, most do find it much easier to just believe what they are told rather than take the time to look for the truth... I can happily say though that in the last 10 or 15 years alot more people seem to have started searching for themselves.. The funny thing is that what most of the churches call "New Age" actually dates back to the earliest Christians.

I apoligize for taking so long to get back to you, I had school today and spent a bit at the hospital with my friend. I look forward to hearing from you again :)

alts and their circular conversations are so boring whether you are agreeing with yourself or disagreeing with yourself

    yawn!
  • SpiritualMom said on Feb 16, 2009....
I have no interest in dealing with people who have nothing better to do and who dislike themselves so much that they feel the need to attack others to feel better about themselves.. I have enough going on at the moment without dealing with people like you Andora... Everyone who had posted back to this blog has been genuine, why do you feel it neccesary to attack them?? Is you life really that empty?
