 Elizabeth Strand, a counselor for the Veterinary Social Work program at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville says that she is receiving many calls every day from pet owners asking for solutions on how to care for their pets in today’s times. The counselor has only this to say all pet owners - don’t neglect your pets even if you are burdened by mortgage or other debt payments. I agree with Ms. Strand. Our pets are like our family. They cannot speak but can feel the tension in the house. You needn’t be guilty if you can’t pamper them with expensive pet food and toys. Just give them all your love. They need to feel safe and protected too!
