  Hope you get some results you will be happy with, either way.  My only complaint with them was trying to get help on the phone when trying to get something installed. I couldn't understand the accent and even the techie trying to help me gave up after several calls.  I never got it installed.  But then, hillbillies only hear in hillbilly, and I can't understand these New Englanders sometimes, either!  A cotton of what?

  Wowsers ... that's really weird, I've never had problems with Dell.  Sorry you're having such a rough time!  By now I hope you've gotten it sorted out one way or the other.

  Did Del just have a large lay off of workers?    welcome to 2009 not only are we down sized but also dumb-sized   as the workers who are have been with companies for sometime and know what the hell to do, get replace with cheaper, newer and lower paid worker.  Those cheaper workers are overseas!

  Do you remember when Walmart was “Made in USA”?    Now it is “low price every day” and the jobs now are overseas.  The American shopper who drove their Toyota to Walmart did it to themselves. Sold their  jobs overseas in exchange for low prices!

  I've never dealt with Dell personally, but I have heard some tales of frustration from them (more from the support end than the sales end)
  
  At least it's not Gateway.  I've heard nightmarish horror stories about them. 
  
  Just a little warning, though.  Go with a Mac, and you'll have to live the i-life.  That's a lifestyle commitment, know what I mean?

  I am currently pissed of pretty highly with dell as well.. I ordered a Studio XPS 1640 which was 2200 overall and they have delayed it three times already it will have almost been a month on this delivery date... This is ridiculous.....
