I'm spending my Sunday alone.  What else is new, right?   Here's how I'm entertaining myself.

I've already spent a good chunk of the morning working on my diabetic blog.  There are a lot of behind the scenes things I do to get it noticed.

I ping it to blog search engines when I make a new post.  I also add it to bookmark sites. Before I write a new article I use a keyword tool to try and pick keywords that have the less competition.  Today I tried looking at tags on top posts on the Google page I was aiming for.  I used some of those.  So that is a little experiment to see how that might work.

Determination is driving me to make that blog a thriving business.

It's so cold here today.  I think it was 8 when I looked this morning.  I've got the heat turned down to save money.  The windows in this old house are not very energy efficient.  I seem to be the only one that cares about that.  I will try to think warm thoughts.

Yesterday, my husband and I went to get mineral for the cattle.  I did get lunch and grocery shopping at Sam's out of the deal.  I never dreamed what a money saver that place can be.  I've resisted buying in bulk for two people mainly because I have very little storage space.  However, the savings is going to far outweigh that inconvenience.

I thought about going to a movie today.  I want to go see Clint Eastwood in Gran Torino, but it's their dinner theater presentation today.  I would really feel like a sore thumb sticking out there amongst the couples.  Our theater serves dinner right before one selected movie each week.  It's really a popular deal here.  I've never gone though because I usually go to movies alone.

My husband is off helping his dad today.  He won't even be here for lunch.  No big deal, I guess.  I guess he thinks we were together enough yesterday.

Tomorrow I go back to the doctor for get my cholesterol checked.  It's been six weeks since I started on some medicine for it and now it's time to see how it is working.

I've been reading a book about giving myself a makeover.  I think maybe I need to change the shade of my lipstick and think about tweaking my hair color.  Maybe I should wear a little more makeup.  The book is about looking young as you get older.  It doesn't take much arm twisting to get me to shop for lipstick.

How will you entertain yourself today?

Well, let's see, I have just such a thrilling day planned.  ;)  I slept all morning.  When I woke, I turned on the computer and right now I'm sitting here jumping from here to there back to here again.  It's snowing outside, so I'm watching it do that.  I have my quilts to finish, and some knitting I could work on, or I could do laundry.  I did just find out that I'm going out to dinner tonight.  We're meeting mrM's brother and his family for dinner at a place called Mimi's Cafe.  The name makes me smile.

I need a makeover too, CDub, only in my case, it would have to be an extreme makeover.  ;)

    hi cw.
i'm glad your website is doing well and helping you give focus on what you want to achieve.
as for me, it's near dawn here, and i'm trying to fit in two major paperwork deadlines due later today.
in the morning, we accompany a clan member to her final resting place.
and then, because it's lunar new year, the clan shifts to party mode.
    so there.
    my day is full.
and i hope to have some time with the girls.
    no problem seeking entertainment.
it will chase me all the way to next weekend... :-)

Its so happens I was browsing in Barnes & Nobles and I saw this book "List" and it had 100 things to do...which included a makeover, changing hair color, sleeping with a younger man, going to a cattle drive...and some other interesting things to spice up life.

I hear you about drafty windows. My den feels like a freezer and it doesn't help thats where my thermostat is. I usually leave it at 58 at night so the bedrooms are not toasty. This month has been bad especially since its been so cold. The utility bill is going to be a shocker! You know, even though I live alone, I buy nonperishable stuff like paper towels rice, soap an such in bulk from Sams...saves me a lot of money and a lot of running around.

I slept in today till noon. I have a meeting with my classmates for a class project at 2 then everything  is up in the air after that. I wouldn't mind going to sleep at 8 so I'll be wide awake Mondays....I hate Mondays.

This is how my day has gone...

woken at 5am by the geriatric moggy who does not understand the concept of a lie-in,
woken at 7:30 by youngest  who had decided that _everyone_ ought to be awake as she was,
made tea, brought drinks to girls and went back to bed to enjoy the one lie-in of the week,
got up, showered & dressed and went through the same process with the girls,
    made brunch,
    did the chores & laundry,
spent a little while chatting online with ET,
spent a good chunk of my day helping oldest with her homework,
    helped littly with her jigsaw,
    did my own school work,
    made dinner,
    cleaned oldest's fish tank,
    polished the shoes,
    fed the hens,
    ate dinner,
    did the clearing up,
watched 'Calamity Jane' with the girls,
got the girls showered & ready for bed,
and here I am taking a few minutes for myself. =)

I have been following and learning how you are working on your Sweet Diabetic blog, CW.  I have plans on a blog but it won´t be until after a year, or maybe 2-3 years...

You know, reading you calms me.

With whom would you like to see the movie then, if you would go?  I hope you don´t mind me asking...

Piet is coming home late from work...but we made a deal to go to bed early (we are the worst couple, we both like staying up late..).  I think, I will ask him to read the book below in bed to me.  We bought it 3 days ago in the Schipol airport (will blog about it tonight :) )

    Photobucket

..and that is what keeps me entertained each and every night Monday - Sunday - blogging in SC ... uploading pictures in photobucket and playing around with the edit features... it also amuses me to google images... I am very easy to please!

I woke at 5 am (body does this to me naturally every day) - turned over, tried to get back to sleep, couldn't got up and watched "Being Julia" on PBS.  Coffee, late breakfast.

10 am - went to run an errand

10:15 am got home and cleaned the place - love having a clean apartment - it's always neat and straightened up, but because I tend to get a lot of dust (open windows, old baseboard heating) you literally would have to dust daily to keep it immaculate - since I don't OCD I let it go for a week or so. Paid Bills,

2pm - took a nice long bubble bath; shaved my legs (I was planning on seeing if I could get the hair to a length sufficient to begin to braid it or grow dreadlocks, but I was getting really disgusted - ahhh there are some nice things to being single and not currently dating.....)

3:20 pm began writing this comment - now going to relax; maybe nap a bit, have dinner, etc. before I have a teleconference tonight at 9 pm

    Mimi,
I haven't slept in in ages. That sounds good.  I love that you have a cafe with your blog name.  That must be fun.  :-)  How much snow have you gotten?

    quietone,
That banana bread looked really good!

    moon,
I hope you meet your deadlines and get that precious time with the girls.  It must be nice to have entertainment chasing you.

    cntlvmenuf,
I am ready for spring so I don't have to be cold.  You are right about Sam's eliminating some running around.

    Alyss,
That sounds like a wonderful day.  :-)

    paper,
You are very sweet.  I have no one in mind for the dinner and movie.  My husband doesn't like going to movies much.  I hope you enjoy your book.

    Jenna,
I did have a good day.  I was very slothful after I did some blog work.  I have been watching a marathon of The Real Housewives Of Orange County.  It's one of my mindless guilty pleasures.

Morning CW ~ Sounds like you have a good day planned ahead.

Today is Australia day, so I will be celebrating with alot of other people as well.  Apart from that I'm trying desperately to finish a cross stitch for a friend.

My day went as follows: 5am woke to make love to my hubby.

7am got finished and went back to sleep.

12pm woke up again and spent all day on the computer.

Wow not an eventful day at all.

I just took your cholesterol test and it seems I'm in no dangr... interesting though.  I thought it might ask more detailed questions on my food intake.

Sunday's come and gone. It's Monday and I am working on my day off for extra cash.
I spent Sunday alone because K and MiniHot are at her parents. K was sick and vomiting and went home. He's better now. So with the house to myself I locked myself in the office with the heater on and typed out some articles I have been meaning to type, cleaned up the office, filed some photos, and looked through some recent photos of my son because I missed him. I did steal away to the supermarket but realized I didn't really need much so that was a cheap outing. I got lots done so I was pleased. Still, I miss my son and wife.

CW, aside from the diabetes, I just can't help but feel so many similarities between the two of us at times.  I thought it interesting when you were talking about your husband helping his father all day, even through lunch, because he must have thought 'You spent enough time together yesterday'.  I know completely how you feel with that.  Generally it's not my husband thinking we spent enough time together, it's everybody else that assumes we had a couple of hours together, so that must be good enough, time to start calling and pestering them!  So far as the windows not being so energy efficient ... have you ever thought about buying window film (they make it for putting it inside so you can see out if you don't want to put it on the outside).  We do that at my house and my gosh does it ever help!  Just a friendly suggestion.  Well, I'm off to work ... maybe ... I just don't have any oomph today.
