I encounter this daily! the notion that unless it affects us adversely, we stay in our fleshy, mentally hardened shell, with nary a glance to the outside and those that surround us. try greeting some people off the cuff with a "good morning" or "hi" and most of the time you get a quizzical look or just plain glared at like "you're high!" is it so wrong to try to make a difference in someone's life by giving them a gentle, non-invasive greeting?

hell, I could see it would be different if I went up to a woman and said, "nice rack" or something. then I would deserve a glare. but, just let me say hello to you without going for the gun in your possesion 'cause you think the next thing that will happen after the greeting will be for me to rob you or something. jeez!
