While chatting with the Mitsubishi PR people at an event last month, I mentioned that I absolutely loved the 2008 Lancer Evolution MR I reviewed, and I regretted the fact that I never got to drive the Evo GSR, the less-expensive, harder-riding, manual-transmission-equipped Evo. The 2008 GSRs had already been pulled from the press fleet, they told me, but they did have one GSR lurking around their headquarters -- the Old Gray Mare, they called her -- and I was welcome to spend a week with it if I wanted. The Evo is one of my favorite cars, so no way was I going to pass this up!Most Americans are tightening their belts these days, so I figured I'd better hurry up and get my list of the least expensive new cars of 2009 ready to go. This year I've extended the list; last year's list had fifteen cars, this year's has twenty. And like last year, the purpose of the list is to tell you which cars are deals and which ones are duds.

But is it in your best interest to let dealerships look for it for you? Maybe not. Do you think that car dealerships will search for the best auto loan deals for you? Maybe not. After all, dealerships are businesses that are compelled to pad their bottom line with money. With whose money? Your money, pal. Your money, not theirs.Car dealerships profit when they get financing for you. Also, when you are not watchful, they can use your good credit against you. Some are unscrupulous enough to say that your credit is blemished, you only qualify for 12% or 13% when in fact, you can get a 6% rate if you look at other places.
That's why it's important to know your credit score in and out. That way, you are prepared. If you go to a dealership without a clue about your credit, some dealerships will give you the wrong numbers. Most dealerships are honest but a few sour apples exist and you don't want to be denied a quick car loan with the lowest interest rates.

If you find the reason above hard to take, then automobile leasing is not for you and you'll be much better with a new car purchase instead.Lease deals might not be favorable for you if you shop around for a car to lease and you don't have any idea how to get one. The lower the total price, the lower your lease payments will be.Also in case you don't know, when you lease cars, a separate leasing company actually buys the vehicle from the dealer and then charges you the monthly payments for it. However, you will be working entirely with the dealer throughout the leasing process. They handle all of the paperwork for the the leasing company.
