The problem is not that it should be illegal. It should be a last resort. Sorry, my answer went so long, I did a post about this.
For the life of me I wish I could honestly understand this. "How to stump an anti-abortionists." You guys use this similar to: "How to stump anti-socialized medicine" or "How to stump anti-immigrationists"
Isn't being anti-abortion a good thing? Outside of all religions and all this pro-choice garbage abortion is a bad thing and even hardcore pro-choicers claim this all the time. Do you guys want something that supposedly solves one problem then creates a whole series of other problems that are far worse?
You've opened an interesting can of worms because what about the Lacy Peterson law?
To answer question, NO! We as a society should ban together and find a real solution to the problem of un-wanted pregnancy. Instead we subject our woman who are probably in the worst situations imaginable to a barbaric procedure that is going to kill something inside of them. They can fall prey to unscrupulous doctors and clinics because there is almost always a degree of secrecy, and worst of all they have to do it alone. We can do better than this.
Fallyn - I believe it should stay legal too.
Alienated - who said it isn't?
Stopmediabias - I agree, we as a society should come together to solve this - but instead we resort to scare tactics and forcing limits on other people's choices.
Uniquely-ironic - you're the only one who answered the question. Thank you. But just a $100 fine?
Exp-most of the laws you quoted are specifically point at cases where a pregnant woman is attacked.
There is a major contradiction here in a lot of these laws. Technically they make it a crime to kill the unborn but specifically say it doesn't apply to abortion.
Stop, you're refusing to look at the reality. Should abortion become illegal, then all those abortion exceptions go away except for where allowance is made for doctors performing a medically necessary procedure. Otherwise why are those exceptions even there?
Without those exceptions, there's no reason at all why woman would not be charged. So a pregnant woman seeking an abortion would fall under the fetal homicide laws of the state she's in.
