So I'm going back to school. But not really... I've decided to do online courses to get my M.S. Ed.

Basically, I'm all about the long distance learning! It will be hard, because I won't have real people around, but it works so much better than trying to find classes that work around my current work schedule.

AND my scholarship will cover it. How freakin' awesome is that.

This year, I'm doing big things people, BIG things.

  • Moving
  • Continuing my education
  • Going to Thailand
  • Getting married (okay...so I just totally made that up...but it COULD happen!!)
  • Continuing my book
So that's it...I will tell you about my crazies later!

Nice to see you, and to see that someone is busy having plans and a life, much unlike me..... Hey, I think that's great with the online courses.  Best of luck with that, and all else on your plate!

    you're going to thailand? wow...
let me guess. a teaching position? research grant?
many friends of mine are going either there or to the mekong.
    i'm positively envious. :-)

wombie!!!! I couldn't stay away you know!! Why aren't you being proactive?? (I only sort of have a life...I was supposed to take a year off and do stuff, but that sooo didn't happen!)

moonriver, I haven't seen you since I first moved in here!! And yeah, definitely Thailand...but strictly for leisure. Is Mekong as good as Thailand? maybe I'll do both...

I know that everything you want to do will happen. I hope the best for you. Also, I will be in NYC in May. We got to meet my friends and hang out.

tbs, i've been in and out of sc too, so i really never got the chance to comment on your blog until now.
as a physical entity, the mekong river basin is huge. it straddles thailand, laos, cambodia, and vietnam. many UN and ADB projects are focused on the basin, thus the influx of foreign technical staff, volunteers, etc.
thailand is best for leisure-type tourism.
but if you want a taste of the rugged and pristine, laos beckons just across the border.

Go you!  That sounds awesome that you've got such big plans.  I hope you stick to your guns and I'm sure you'll be able to enjoy the fruits of your labor soon enough.  I'm so excited for you!

I am drowning my sorrows in a bowl full of kid's cereal - Cookie Crisp, dinner of champions. I could have easily made a case for eating cookies for dinner, but at least this way I can pretend to have eaten real food.

What I'd like to know is...
My sister asked if she could share my email address with someone who was a classmate of mine back in high school. I said yes, of course. Right there, I should have given that more thought.

Got a bubbly email from her, and I responded in equ...
Just updates....
Well, SC - I am teetering on the brink. It seems like I should be a lot more upset than I actually am, but I am taking consolation in the knowledge that I have done the absolute best that I could. Also, there's still a chance I can achieve the grades...
Maybe it won't go down like this, but it's getting close to the wire. My academic performance is slightly better, but inconsistent, and there's no way to know if I will make the grade until we see how I do on my final exams in a few weeks.
