We bought our first brand new car this weekend.

Things have been going okay. My new job is pretty good, even though I'm still making significantly less than at my previous job. My wife hasn't got a job yet. Both boys are in drama and are enjoying it. My daughter is still the sweetest little angel in the world -- of the three kids she's the only one to have made me a card and give me presents which she scrounged up.

I just turned 39 a week or so ago. I'm older than that number conveys, though.

The car is a black 2008 Kia Optima with a manual transmission. A pretty nice car, actually, and very inexpensive.

Anyway, that's all for now. I'm still not sure if I've given up on this place, but I thought that I would check in any how.

Hey Tin.....congrats on the job and the new car....thanks for contributing to the economy! More people need to make big purchases if they can swing it anyway!
Your daughter does sound like a sweetie....enjoy every minute of it....they grow up unfortunately!

AW, don't give up on us Tin. We're a pretty nice lot. A bit of crazy here and there but that makes for some interesting reading. I always enjoy your comments and hope you stay. A new car huh? Feels good doesn't it? I've never had a Kia but when I am in Guatemala that's the most popular car on the market and my friends are always happy with them. I love a black car. My favorite car of all time was a black Honda. 39 is a wonderful age. I'm 60 now and think 39 or 40 would be the age I would pick, given the choice. (without teenagers though!, they are all in their 30's now and I like that!) Stick around.

Hi Tin!  good to see you again.  There is nothing like driving a new car with like 13 miles on it.  Not to mention the new car smell.  I hope your Kia is as good and trouble free as the one I bought in 2003 and still drive.  It isn't much in the way of luxury or speed, but that car starts up each and every day and never gives me trouble.

Nice to see you posting again...  I do believe it's been a while...

Innit nice to have a new car?  Don't have to worry about it breaking down, don't have to worry about whether it's going to start or not...

    At least for a while.

    Congrats!!!

Heh, thanks for the comments and the welcome back guys.

I had always swore up and down that I would never buy a new car, but now even with the economy and everything I was just fed up with my old one and I was tired of owning cars greater than ten years old with more than 100,000 miles on them.

I don't notice that "new car smell" so much.

I will need to buy a new, or used ar soon, but I can't figure out the best one to get, or what price would be fair' Then I have to pay sales taxes and registration. Who has the money for this crap? I'll need snow tires and everything else! Maybe I should...
And its really pissing me off....
Oh, it's all in the family, but I just need a little help so we can all be happy....
Thought I'd share these few gems from my yucky feeling mind....
