I work in a Call Center here in the Philippines. This is a kind of workplace where everyone doesn't mind everyone else. I go to work on time, sit down to take in calls, take my breaks and then go home. Everyone can do that without having to talk to anyone else at work, one can be oblivious to everyone else. Nice workplace you might say.

 

I know I should not be affected by the actions of my co-workers cos anyway with the kind of workplace that we have, it doesn't really matter how she does her job cos everyone is being evaluated separately, one agents scorecard has nothing to do with another, even when you belong in one team. Each and every agent are independent from each other when evaluated.

 

But I usually am seated with one of my team mates, one team is assigned a set of stations, although you can choose where you want to seat as long as it is with the team, but unfortunately I have this one mate who so loves to seat with me, I think, cos we always seem to be seated next to each other. Personally, she is a nice person (redundant?). But when she already is halfway thru our shift, she will start to get very noisy, she will cuss and complain about her callers and just generally be noisy. She always seems to find things to complain about. I should not be affected but I am. Perhaps bad temperedness is contagious?
