Hi everyone! I've just been thinking about something today... About authority and the people who have power or influence over the lives of others.
In any organization, entity, including government, the entity itself is often corrupt at its upper echelons... its leaders; but they need people to serve them. Thereby these people are invested with authority from these leaders, who have themselves (the leaders) abused and twisted the authority given them by our creator.
But the servants with this invested authority on the bottom have the power to grant mercy to those they influence. After all, the authority is given by God, and just because the leaders have chosen to use it to further their own ends doesn't mean the servants must follow suit.
Now I don't have any authority. I'm just an unemployed grunt... But maybe someone reading this does. Something to think about maybe?
Does this make any sense to anyone?
John 19:11 MSG
(11) Jesus said, "You haven't a shred of authority over me except what has been given you from heaven. That's why the one who betrayed me to you has committed a far greater fault."
