So after my crazy drive to drop the packages off at FedEx on Saturday (will blog more about that later) my daughter and I decided to play it safe and walk downtown and get a bite to eat. We're both really enjoying that my room is in a house that is just mere blocks from the 2-3 streets that have all the cute restaurants and other conveniences.
We toured a couple of streets and ran across a Blockbusters. We went in and looked at the new releases and compared notes as to which ones we'd already seen. It's usually a long drawn out process since her dad and brother take her to the movies and I had been going regularly to the movies with Bill. We usually end up with some third rate movie that we fall asleep during, but this time we ended up with a chick flick (yay!) called the Duchess and the new Get Smart film. We noticed that they had a package deal of a bucket of popcorn, two sodas and two movies, so we decided to skip a traditional dinner and just go watch these in our jammies tucked into my comfy bed.
As we were checking out my eye fell on the "candy bar" below. OMG if anything could have summed up my day better than that, I don't know what it would have been. I stood there giggling and laughing at the candybar while the poor confused counter person was probably wondering if he should call for medical help or mental help. Then I added this little gem to our pile of purchases and explained that it had been a very long, very stressful day and I really needed to take it "nut so serious". (okay, that was cheesy humor, but he did crack a smile)
So, one more item for the weirdology drawer. I think I may have found a worthy cause to donate my overflowing weirdology items to. I do need to think it over a little more, but if it turns out that it's a go, you all will be the first to know.
