  This has happened to me before...  I wrote about it here.  I did receive some really good advice that I didn't take. 
  
  One of which being:  Save your work in Microsoft Word or Notepad. 
  
  That's hard for me to do because I'm a "fly by the seat of your pants" kinda blogger and commenter, but it seems like a wise decision, don't you think? 
  
  Another was use Firefox of Opera as your default web-browser.  I use Firefox myself. 
  
  Sorry you lost your stuff...  I know how frustrating that can be.  When you write it again, something gets lost in the process, and the original mood is difficult to re-create, am I right? 
  
  Perhaps you could re-do a simile, though?

It was always my default browser in my previous lappy.. but then ants started breeding in it and I had to swap it for this one.. and I've just been too lazy to change the default browser!! I'm gonna do that now asap though!!

  hahahaha im sorry for lauginh, it's just cos i can relate. like you i do not write on word or notepad, i type it in directly and then one time wham, i accidentally pressed something and all the good things went blank hehehehe i nearly threw the computer out the window hahahaha

  so yeah, the advice was to write on a notepad first, but guess what, i still do it the same way, never learned my lesson, i guess <wink wink>

  Yes I really did!! It crashed soon after.. and my dad fixed it later.. he also exorcised it of the ants!! They all came out in due time!! I think its because I was feeding it too much!!  :-D

  Had it been me I would have experienced a brief moment of shock and then the computer would have been the one begging for someone to call 911. There are two things that bug the crap out of me and drive me berserk: inconsiderate drivers and computer goof-ups.
