Back in the seventeenth century salem puritans used the courts to get revenge at someone who they despised. A person accused of being a witch had no lawyer or constitutional rights. With all the frenzied spectators and concocted evidence an accused stood no chance. Reminds me of what my uncle Michael Jent endured at the hands of the Fort Wayne legal system.
