I had a rather different day yesterday.A long day - still not able to get much in the way of a good nights sleep - in fact that term seems quite foreign to me now,as i have forgotten what it feels like.I had  a restless night on Friday night, just couldnt get comfortable at all.
They had tried in vein to give me an epidural before the procedure that morning,in spite of the fact that i had told them that it wasnt going to do any good with the whole in my spine - but as usual they didnt listen.30 minutes of poking the souls of my feet wth a needle and me saying 'yes i can still feel that' made them a bit fed up in the end.
So the needle site made it a bit uncomfortable to lie on my back on Friday,so i was doing a fair bit of tossing and turning.
I went to be sometime after one this morning.I wanted to sleep, needed to sleep - but couldnt.I eventually tried one of my age old methods of distracting my mind away from it,and eventually dozed off.
Suddenly,i heard a large cracking noise - similar to the noise that i heard that night my house was broken into, and we were attacked and robbed.Normally when i have a bad dream and i get that sound of noise,I am dreaming that i am falling off a building ( i suffer with vertigo ) and that sound is at the point of impact where my body normally goes into a spasm - that i know is condition related. But my body didnt spasm this time.
My eyes opened. It was at this point that  i realised that i had been in the middle of a really bad dream. Was the noise real,or was it just in my head? I opened my eyes - darkness, black -silence.My eyes were just getting adjusted and i saw something.Something as if walking past my doorway into the lounge.
I sat up,a little too quickly - the pain in my leg still more than evident.I got up out of bed as quick as i could and made the few steps to the door.I turned left into the lounge.Switched the light on - nothing, absolutely nothing. Was i imagining things,or was there something really there. If there was something there, where had it come from, and what did it want?or am i getting ahead of myself.
It was at this point that  i realised that the electrcity had gone off - possibly from the storm we had that night. It had raged on for what seemed like hours -so the noise was probably the sound of it all coming back on again and my printer starting up again. So that explained that.
But it didnt explain the 'person' i saw

was i imagining things or am i losing my mind ?

I can't say whether it was real or not, but your reactions sure were.  Scary.

hello cj, it sounds like you had a vey rough day at the hospital, i know exactly what you mean when your trying to tell them that its not going to work no way is a vein going to appear, but they keep on as if they want to prove you wrong, i ended up with drips in my foot and neck b/c my arms and hands had broken i was in agony

i think the noise if the electricity must of been coming back if you had a bad storm, the shadow you saw do you think it could of been a shadow of some1 outside your house maybe, but even though its very scarey,
i hope your back is alot more at ease now with the pain, xxx

It sounds like an anxiety dream to me.  I get similar ones (not in a long time, thankfully) when I'm stressed, knowingly or not.  As a high school senior, nearing the end of term, my first one involved being certain that an intruder was in the house.  It was heart-stopping, and I recall creeping ever so slowly out toward the kitchen armed with...a long, flimsy box that came to hand.  There was no-one there, of course.  The next was after having just bought a real house that was going to take up more than half our monthly income to cover the payment.  I woke up cold-scared and convinced I'd seen a dark stranger peering in from the dark side of the house over the bedroom window sill.  This one came back three times and nearly convinced me I was going nuts.  I've had other invader dreams since as my poor husband will attest.  They've also been supplemented with very real dream-feelings that I've completely forgotten some very dependent little creature and caused it a great deal of suffering.  I'd wake up, gasp some thing or another and run through the house looking for the pet rat, kitten, guinea pig, whatever until fully awake and realizing that little pet was years ago if ever.

Since I am using the patch, I don't need to smoke anymore. This will prevent me from wasting time sitting around outside if I would rather do something else. This will cause silence from me. I just wish that people would stop trying to block what I am...
