Happy what would have been the 13th birthday to Chan, Ziidj and Chailin. Stolen, slaughtered by an animal "shelter."
Powerlessness will kill you as surely as anything else will. I am a prisoner, the property of the federal government and am not allowed a lawyer, not allowed the press.

Update 29 Aug 2009: I was pleading here, obviously. Pleading for people to care. Pleading for people to open their minds to the possibility that the cruel, undercover protection that Matthew had told me about could actually happen in this country, could actually happen in small places like Greenfield and Turners Falls. Pleading to no avail, as it turned out.
The next day was my birthday, which I spent on the streets of Northampton, crying. Just the same way I had spent Christmas. Where was Matthew's love? Where was this protection?
