Heh, this is a great idea! (How about adding awards for comments? Like, best comment, funniest comment, most offensive comment?)

for the best how to blog post, i submit all of the incredibly informative blogs FD has posted in the past month or so. all of 'em: i refuse to pick. i always find i learn something new when i read 'em.

SW: My sincere thanks as I humbly accept your kind nomination. I think the runaway winner for the most creatively crafted blog will most likely go to my good friend SW.

And for the Best Outstanding Male Blogger of 2007 award will probably be a close tie between SW and HBC. :D

i cannot accept a nomination for outstanding male blogger, for which btw, i would second the nomination of hunter. i would also like to submit for consideration quidnunc.

I think quidnunc will qualify to be nominated for Best Original Concept Blog and Outstanding Male Blogger as well. HBC is sure to win hands down as the Most Popular Blogger (as voted by the SC Community).

FD: you know I loved that blog and this one is a really fun follow up, but I am a little tired, can the Mamie just come over as the pretty presenter....and do I get a $30K gift bag? :)
  • FaithfulDisciple said on Aug 25, 2006....
Sure, we'll need all the pretty help we can get. You can be one of the lovely presenters along with some of our dashing debonaire men to escort you. You get to announce the winner of the Most Outstanding Female Blogger of the Year.

Aside from the $30K gift bags each presenter takes home, you get a complimentary new Motorola Razr V3 cellular phone package and a new Dell laptop computer with a one year prepaid broadband connection to upgrade your Soulcast system. :D

How about the most retarded and demented blogger of the year?
  • GMNIMan said on Aug 26, 2006....
How about awarding points for the top ten placings in every category, like 10 points for the first place winner, 9 for second and so on.

I am sure many will be mentioned in more than one category. Then when all the points are calculated, we can have an overall winner or the Grand Champion of SoulCast.

There should be a prize for the deserving winner, how about ten clicks each from every member on his Google ads. Ha, ha, no that will not do... we'll all get banned by the big G for this. Let's think of something else.
  • FaithfulDisciple said on Aug 26, 2006....
GMNIMan: You're right about that. I think there should be some sort of reward system for the top blogs that get to the Featured Post.

Then maybe at the Annual Awards Night, they could give out the winners their cash prizes or the equivalent of gift certificates courtesy of Google Adsense.
  • FaithfulDisciple said on Aug 26, 2006....
Sigroid: You know even if you won an award, you could send some sort of representative to do a thank you speech and pick up your winning SC Blogwood statue award (whatever that will be).

Paidinblood: For the most retarded and demented blogger, we would really have a lot of nominees to choose from.
  • paidinblood said on Aug 26, 2006....
Yeah, that was the downside of the award. Maybe it should be the top 3 most retarded and demented bloggers of the year. That way, we'd have at least 3 winners in that category. (I want to say 10 but then 10 is too big of a number for me)
  • sigroid75 said on Aug 26, 2006....
    FD: hahaha yeah maybe...:-)

so when do we nominate? :-)
    i;m excited!:-)
