I think I'm losing weight because I'm ___________.
A. Playing too much Wii at the office
B. Getting (s)exercise from my boyfriend.
C. Being on a low carb diet.
D. Doing jump rope exercises in the morning.
The answer again, is all of the above I think. Well, not much of B, but I'll have to post later when I'm in a laughing and not-so-serious mood about it.
Anyway, after the holidays, I decided to lose the pounds that I gained. We all know that holidays is the time when we get to eat a lot. Of course, I am never one to obsess about my weight. I would always tell my mom when she coax me into dieting this line, "Mom, I'm happy with my body". But then I always say that to anybody who calls me fat or tells me that I've gained weight. Yes, its a girl thing. Don't tell us that we gained weight or we'll probably bite your head off.
So anyway, its been two weeks since I started my diet. Actually its more of a low-carb diet, for which I slowly reduced intake of rice and replaced it with crackers during the first week, and also I opted to reduce the amount of dinner that I'm consuming since I am known to pig out on food at the very last minute of the day. I lost a bit of weight actually from this kind of dieting. Also, I'm never a big fan of crash diets. I believe in eating to fulfill your hunger and that's it, but never starve yourself.
For the second and current week, I replaced my coffee mix with a sugar free mix, my crackers with a fuller wheat bread, and added a 15-minute jump rope routine every morning. During mid-week, my officemates invited me to eat dinner at KFC and everyone of us has two chickens. I told myself, hey it's okay to indulge once in a while, plus chicken hasn't got too much fat in it. So when I was eating and about half way through my rice, I felt very full already and I can't consume it anymore. One more mouthful and I swore I was going to barf. I only managed to eat the skin off my second chicken. Yes, imagine my officemate's surprise when I wasn't able to finish my meal. I was surprised too. It isn't me to not finish eating. I mean, I'm known as Carnivorous Jackie, who can eat what she wants and finish it even beating all the guys! Oh well, maybe my eating habits have been changed.
Playing wii also affected my weight. Since playing wii requires movement, I think I've managed to move my sedentary muscles, which for me is a good thing. By the way, I weigh myself every morning just to check progress and I was surprised that in this week alone, I've lost 4 pounds.
My boyfriend also commented that I was indeed losing weight and that it reflected on my tummy. I told him that it must be the shirt that I was wearing and probably the low cut jeans. But then when I looked at the mirror, some of the fats that I've accumulated around my tummy diminished. Hmmm.
Anyway, part of my plan to stay healthy is to add pilates to my morning routine next week. Yup, I don't want to bombard myself at an early stage by too much so I'm trying to add one exercise routine at a time.
Anyway, as a form of record keeping, here is my tummy this week. By the way, I'm no model and I'm just a regular kid, so go easy on me, okay. By the way, I just used a grayscale photo so that I wouldn't offend anybody, in case my tummy makes anyone barf! Sorry for those who are eating while viewing it.
Hopefully, improve it with pilates and of course remain healthy. Of course, I'm probably going to do some crunches the following week after my pilates experiment. But then it's going to be the weekend, time to cheat though! :) I'm going to have a cheat day this sunday and eat mom's home cooked meal. Can't wait to go home tomorrow! =)
